The Future Of Government(s)

As a born-again, Word-believing follower of Jesus Christ, I am extremely alarmed that so many who also profess the name of Jesus still have no idea what is happening on this planet. The carnage of every type occurs on every continent and in nearly every nation. What we see was clearly spelled out in the Bible, and if anyone should understand the situation well, it should be the Church, the Body of Christ. This world has been ravaged for nearly 6,000 years by Satan, the arch-enemy of God, who also happens to be the most powerful but least-known politician in history, the one who started the evil practice of politics in the deception of the world’s first man and woman. (Read the account of the deception of Adam and Eve in Genesis chapter three, and then compare that event to my definition of *politics at the end of this article).

My biggest concern is that many professing believers seem reluctant to accept the truth about POLITICS. They seem to have it settled in their minds that politics is a necessary part of our human lives, and thus, it cannot, or should not, be changed. This acceptance allows them to feel OK about participating in a system of government that is not only evil-oriented but evil-dominated. And in case you believe that politics is a real and viable “system of government,” Let me expose you to this truth:

Politics is NOT a “system of government”; it is a “system of “Control by Government.”

Government and Our Human Rights

Many professing Christians still believe our “guaranteed human rights and freedoms” can be achieved through participation in politics, hanging on to the empty political promise that We, the People, actually get to choose those who “rule over us.” Despite the U.S. Constitution stating such, that revered document is ignored by those rulers every single day. And rule over us they do, with enthusiasm, and the longer the people accept the status of being ruled over as normal, the longer will live the delusion that we are actually free, with our guaranteed rights intact, and the longer this nation will founder instead of returning to the true freedom and prosperity Americans once knew (long, long ago).

Those who still believe that “fair and honest elections” still exist, allowing us to choose those officeholders via our ballots, are living in a dangerous and dark bubble that does not allow for the entrance of truth and light that could bring a needed awakening. Such is the power of the deception of politics. This deception promises us a role in the decision-making of the governmental policies that determine our futures and the future of the United States and the entire world. Many Americans have fallen for the lies embedded in the deception.

I realize that the few people who might read this article and their responses to it, either positive or negative, will make little difference in changing the thoughts and minds of the American populace, but I still must try. I hope that, eventually, I can hear, if not the actual bursting of that bubble, at least the hiss of some air escaping from it. I only hope that the bubble totally collapses before our time has expired. Otherwise, the United States will remain a near-third-world nation, stumbling blindly along with no real direction or purpose.

So, Here Goes:

Human nature, that is, the fallen nature of humans NOT spiritually reborn into the image of Jesus Christ, is such that, as long as there are human beings possessing that fallen nature, there can never be a successful human government on this planet. I want to repeat that claim: There can never be a successful human government on this planet. 6000 years of human history have proven this beyond any doubt. If you doubt this assessment, I challenge you to name one human government that did not end in scandal and corruption. Go ahead, I’ll wait………

No matter how many elections are held to place candidates in high office to “represent the people,” nothing beneficial will ever come of such events. Why is this true? Elections, the people’s voice, were the backbone of the rule of law embedded in our Constitution and helped to make our nation truly a government OF the people, BY the people. For the people, that was before those who participated in government via the political system, specifically the MULTI-PARTY political system, we discovered that while in certain positions of authority (think power), they could enrich themselves through that system. Benjamin Franklin once said: “When the people (in Congress) find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” (So that you know, our republic was lost a long time ago).

The process of politics brought out the true nature of the officeholders. They gave themselves to corruption through greed and lust for money and power. As their personal wealth enrichment grew larger, with no one bothering to call those who participated to account for their corruption, the greedy practices became a permanent mainstay of the overall American political process. While many may deny it, the primary motivation for entering into the world of politics is the ability to become wealthy and NOT ever be questioned as to where that wealth originated.

Humility Out, Pride Enters

As this nation flourished and grew both in material success and reputation as the greatest nation on Earth, especially after WW2, pride entered hugely into the American psyche, and that pride displaced any humility that should have been present; that humility was the link needed to express the national thankfulness and gratitude that belongs to Almighty God and eventually, the success and blessings experienced in our nation were attributed to our own knowledge and skills, not to God’s providence. The inevitable result was that God was utterly ignored and even forced out of participation in our government. Many in federal institutions and Congressional offices even demanded that any mention of God, either through public prayers or the display of the Ten Commandments, be thoroughly purged from all government facilities.

That human nature action began the downward spiral of the American system of government, and the people were eventually totally left out of the process. And now, we have a bloated, unresponsive, and almost irrelevant federal government, at least irrelevant as far as being of any benefit to the American people. And that irrelevance in every federal government institution has shown to most Americans that their government CANNOT be trusted.

I believe people want to trust the government, but those who have consistently done so now realize their trust is seriously misplaced. For faith to have any value, it must provide a return in some form. In government, the return should be the adherence of government officials to a high moral standard in all their actions and a willingness to at least listen to the voice of the citizens and then run the government in a responsible manner that provides the voters with the benefits enumerated in our founding documents. Without that return, eventually, the trust erodes into skepticism, suspicion, contempt, and outright hatred. This seems to be where we are right now.

Where Do We Go From Here?

So, with human government now on the verge of being a complete failure in the United States, what can and should be done? The first step is to realize precisely what *politics is,  how it works, and the danger it poses to anyone foolish enough to get involved. The unsaved person has no knowledge of, or desire for, God and His righteousness, and those people fit well into the American political process.

I know I am not the only person who has placed trust, even great faith, in humans I thought were genuine and trustworthy friends, only to be terribly disappointed and even personally injured by them. If this occurs among friends that you know, what is the hope of trusting a politician you do NOT know? Is such trust possible under the system of political control that passes as the government of, by, and for the people? I’ll answer that one for you: it absolutely is not.

Realizing that politics is a system that allows for, and even encourages, the corruption that leads to the downfall of nations is critical for anyone who wants to know how to survive in, near, or under such a system. While not every politician in the D.C. world of politics is a corrupt liar and cheat, the system is vastly overloaded with those who ARE. They are people for whom honesty, morals, ethical standards, and a love for truth mean absolutely nothing.

They are the people described by the prophet Jeremiah, who stated: “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart…… (Jeremiah 17:9-10a). The heart described in that passage is NOT the blood pump, but I.S., the real being residing in the human body, the spirit of a man. Nothing is hidden from God, and only God knows the real condition of the heart. We other humans are only guessing at the heart (spiritual) condition of any other human being. This flawed, opaque knowledge leads people to accept as “good and trustworthy” people who are ravening wolves in their hearts.

Based on this truth, the hope that politics and politicians can change things for the better in this country is a false hope at best.

So, I will repeat my question: Where Do We Go From Here? The second step is to seek God’s wisdom and base the rest of our lives on that wisdom and not on some foolish belief that a flawed man will drain the swamp and return the nation to righteousness and prosperity. No Christian can now honestly believe that God has an active role in our current government. He has been told in no uncertain terms, “We no longer need you involved in our nation’s decisions, and we will handle our affairs without you.”

It should now be evident to anyone indeed watching the collapse of, and imminent death of, civility in America that the removal of God from all segments of American society has not worked out well unless, of course, you like chaos, violence in the streets, rampant rioting and looting, division of the people along every possible line, and a government that not only should not, but truly CANNOT, be trusted.

Corruption in government doesn’t just affect those who work for the government. It affects every American on every level of society. The presence of so much corruption eats away at all the freedoms we have, unfortunately, taken for granted for so long. It proves that life without liberty is life barely worth living. Founding Father Patrick Henry said it so well:

“Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death! “~ Patrick Henry

What Has God Said About Our Present Situation?

Is God surprised about the events unfolding in the U.S. and worldwide? Of course not; nothing ever takes God by surprise. So, knowing what would happen, did He provide instructions for our lives during this madness we now see? In Luke 19:12-13, Jesus said this: “……A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come”. The word “occupy” is the Greek word “pragmateuomai” (Strong’s 4231, pronounced “prag-mat-yoo-om’-ahee), and it means to trade, to busy oneself with, and to engage in some business enterprise. Basically, Jesus was telling His disciples in that verse to “go about your business, using the giftings and resources I have provided for you and be ready when I return to account to Me for your success or failure.”

But, can we truly do that in the current situation we find ourselves in, under a government that is becoming more open about its disdain for Christians and anything Godly? Satan still controls all the governments on Earth and will not easily relinquish any of that control. Knowing that fact, the best we can do is to maintain our relationship with the Lord, walk circumspectively and honestly, basing our entire lives on His word, and keep ourselves free from any entanglements that would compromise His leadership. I say this based on the knowledge that we are very close to the return of Jesus to take His body, the true Church, out of this corrupt, rotten, and decaying world.

The Future of Government(s)

Of all the governments currently holding power on this Earth, none is a righteous one because those who hold the reins of power in those governments are not righteous. That is why all human governments have failed for the past 6,000 years.

Will we ever see a true government on this Earth that functions as God intended? Indeed, we will, but it will be very different from any seen in the entire history of the world. Rather than a so-called “representative government” such as we originally had, and still should have, in the U.S., where people trust their lives to humans who themselves are unworthy of any trust, it will be a kingdom based on righteousness and truth. It will only ever have ONE KING, the God-man Jesus Christ. Per Isaiah 9:6, For unto us, a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this”.

Please notice that the word government in that verse is “singular,” meaning that when Jesus has defeated all the enemies of God, the entire world will be devoid of any governments that account only for themselves. They will all answer to a KING, the only king worldwide. His kingdom will be righteous, and from His capital in Jerusalem, sitting on the Throne of David, He will rule the entire world with a rod of iron.

All politics, that satanically controlled process that rewards evil and destroys goodness that is fed by and thrives on greed and lust, will be eliminated from the Earth forever. I shudder to think about the future of all those misguided souls who poured their entire lives into the foulness of politics. Admittedly, their futures, if they have any, will not be rosy ones, full of joy and gladness. And they now only have a very short time to reconsider their status, repent, and seek God’s mercy and forgiveness.

The third step is this: All believers, based on the words of Jesus in Luke 19:12-13, should be “occupying” and looking for the return of the only person who has any chance of “Making Anything Great Again.” Any other person involved in politics will only bring disappointment, frustration, and failure. Be very careful of who you trust. Time is very short.

Based on these explanations/clarifications, politics should be defined as “The use of underhanded crafty schemes, plots, intrigues and deceitful plans, methods, or series of maneuvers (machinations and intrigue) in obtaining any position enabling one to do or act (power), providing the capability of control, domination or command (control). This will now be the definition I use as long as I live.
