As we get set for the Christmas Holiday, we’re hastily finishing up our year by fighting over the terms of a federal budget for fiscal year 2025. It’s been an exhausting and sticky task that has yet to be completed. Oh, it was due this past September! We take the day to look back at the last week, pull together the week’s most important stories, and publish them here today. If you missed some of the most important issues, you can catch up with us in our “Saturday Bullet Points!”
Let’s get started.
Bullet Points
- Things are not looking good for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). The first budget bill released early in the week was soundly defeated without a vote. Johnson then — along with other GOP members — presented a scaled-down bill with two-thirds of the contents of the first bill deleted. It failed miserably in a Thursday vote. Early Friday morning, another plan was discussed in the GOP caucus to no avail. However, late in the day Friday, both Democrats and Republicans agreed (and approved) a stopgap measure that will keep the government open through early next year. - Thirty-eight Republicans voted against Speaker Johnson’s second spending bill. At a Friday conference, Donald Trump Jr. called out those who voted against the bill. Remember: the deadline for completing a bill must be signed by the President before it will be official. However, before that can happen, the U.S. Senate must still agree to the bill! Watch Trump, Jr. at the Turning Point Action conference:
- Former FOX News evening talk show host Tucker Carlson is going after any member of the U.S. Senate regarding the confirmation process required to approve all presidential Cabinet appointments. Carlson is in demonstrative support of Tulsi Gabbard, a former Hawaii GOP congresswoman nominated to lead the Department of National Intelligence: DNI. Tucker has warned that any Senator who votes against Gabbard for the spot is an “Enemy of the United States.” For complete details, click on this link:
- House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) faces real obstacles to repeating as Speaker in the January 3rd speaker election. He’s under fire for not getting a budget proposal before Congress until early this week. The budget bill approved in the House was only a skeleton budget that would include just enough funding for essential elements to keep government funding through early March. Amidst all this, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has a novel idea for fixing our House Speaker issue. He proposes finding a House Speaker from outside the government to do the job. - Americans were told early Friday that President Biden has approved an additional $4.28 billion to cancel more college student debt for public service workers. In doing so, the President is laughing once more at the United States Supreme Court. A previous announcement of other student debt was challenged in the court system and went to the Supreme Court. The Court determined that NO president has the authority to cancel any government debt, which is the exclusive control of the U.S. Congress. How will this latest Biden boondoggle work? - Steve Bannon spoke at Turning Point Action in Phoenix and addressed various issues facing the “new” President Donald Trump. While discussing various issues in our government today, Bannon addressed the current vacuum of leadership in the House of Representatives. He had much to say about House Speaker Mike Johnson. Hear what he said for yourself:
- Most Americans know Donald Trump’s plans to cut massive federal government spending, especially the number of federal employees. One U.S. Senator has an idea that will probably add to the savings anticipated by Trump’s actions in a different way. Most Americans understand how expensive life is in Washington, D.C. Senator Joni Ernst has a novel idea: a bill she has proposed would send many people in the federal workforce out of D.C. For complete details, click on this link:
- The stories of “Area 51” and UFOs have been legends for many years. “Area 51” is one area of a U.S. Airforce Test and Training Range in Nevada’s Mojave Desert. Americans will know if the stories of “other world” invaders coming to Earth for decades are true. How so? President Trump has stated that he will declassify a massive volume of classified information when he takes office in January. Maybe we’ll finally know the true story about our “friends” from outer space. For complete details, click on this link:
- Daily, President Biden proves to the nation how much he hates Donald Trump AND the American people. Arbitrarily, he has spent billions of dollars of taxpayer money, much of which is headed overseas. On his watch, the Senate has confirmed as many federal judges as possible — all of who are leftist-leaning — to pack the judiciary with radical jurists. He conducted a fire sale for the millions of dollars of completed southern border wall materials ordered by the Trump Administration. Hundreds of millions of dollars are being lost in this debacle. Friday, he decided to withdraw his proposed Title IX rule change for “equality” and other woke objectives. One would think that’s a good thing, right? It’s anything But good. For complete details, click on this link:
- Biden and other Democrat Party leaders still do not understand they will NOT diminish Trump’s commitments to the American People to complete his conservative ideals that the Left (and even some RINOs) summarily reject. We mentioned Biden’s fire sale of southern border wall border sections to thwart Trump’s plans to start honoring federal law to protect Americans from the criminality that has flooded our nation. Trump has determined to sue the Biden Administration for doing so! For complete details, click on this link:
- We’ve heard much noise from the Left regarding multiple of Trump’s cabinet nominees, all of which is negative. Pete Hegseth is Trump’s choice to become the Secretary of Defense, replacing Lloyd Austin. It should surprise nobody that after Pete’s nomination went public, multiple “anonymous” sources went public with egregious actions Hegseth took with them. There’s NO proof, NO ability to face the accusers, no idea who they are. Meghan Kelly and Dave Rubin addressed these allegations:
- Elon Musk’s support of conservative causes instead of his “former” political beliefs is an eyesore for Democrats. As Democrats normally do, they are daily escalating their hostile rhetoric against any conservatives—especially Elon Musk. Did you know that those who purchase any of Elon’s Tesla vehicles take advantage of a federal EV credit of $7500 for a new EV and $4000 for a used EV? Those include Teslas. President-elect Trump has included canceling those EV credits — even for his buddy, Elon Musk. Guess who agrees with Trump doing so? For complete details, click on this link:
