Saturday Bullet Points: February 22, 2025

“And the hits just keep on coming!” Formerly, that was an exclamation that radio disc jockeys were known to use at rock stations. President Trump lived in that era. I bet he listened to Top 40 stations during the 70s and identified with that saying. However, today, President Trump is making his own “hits,” and it’s not happening on radio stations or speaking of radio hit records. It’s all about the United States and the continuation of his promise to “Make America Great Again.”

Quite a bit of the substance of that goal happened this week: far more than most people are familiar with. We’ll weigh into several of those “hits” you may have missed this week. And there will certainly be a few you didn’t hear or see in the pile of this week’s shocking events in D.C. Let’s launch the “Bullet Points” and take a look!

Bullet Points

  • Let’s begin with President Trump’s speaking to a group of governors in the White House on Friday. While he was talking about the changes across the nation regarding biological males competing in sports against women is on its way out — especially for younger people. When he mentioned the NCAA changed their policies to mirror those of the President’s executive order, he mentioned that there was some pushback on his policy, saying he thinks most governors or in compliance with one exception: the state of Maine. He asked if Maine’s governor was in the room. When he saw her, he asked if Maine was going to follow the Executive Order he signed preventing that male/female interaction. Her reply and his response are making not U.S., but World news:

  • Kash Patel was the final “major” Cabinet appointment for President Trump. There were quite a few Democrats who cried loudly about the danger that would come to Americans with Patel as FBI Director. Patel is a schooled veteran in the intelligence community, having served in top roles in several administrations. That truth did not mean much to many Senators. The vote to confirm Patel finally happened on Saturday, and it was close. In his acceptance speech, Patel sent a message to the media, saying, “Bring it on.” The legacy media has been very toxic toward Patel; some even warn Americans that his confirmation would certainly be a disaster for the nation. • Ukraine’s President Zelensky has made headlines in the U.S. during the past few weeks. It seems he’s not getting the attention he feels President Trump should be giving him. Zelensky is angry because Trump’s cabinet members met with Putin’s representative this week to discuss having meetings between Russian President Putin and President Trump to discuss measures to end the war in Ukraine. However, we discovered more to this upcoming meeting than just Ukraine’s war with Russia. Apparently, some additional bargaining chits are at stake in such a meeting. • I thought TikTok was given an ultimatum by the White House to either find a buyer from the U.S. or TikTok would be blocked from any use of one of the most used app by Americans. Nothing’s happened! Well, at least as far as we know. Several wealthy groups of Americans are negotiating to buy TikTok, but nothing has happened yet. However, there’s a “new” potential purchaser — or at least someone with a workable plan to initiate such a sale. And he lives in the White House! For complete details, click on this link:
  • In one short month, we have witnessed the elimination of tens of thousands of U.S. government jobs. Elon Musk, DOGE, and President Trump have notified the nation there are many more to come. DOGE experts are conducting investigations of egregious spending, waste, and corruption that permeates the U.S. government spending infrastructure. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Saturday gave the news of the elimination of thousands of jobs of civilians working for the Pentagon:

  • It didn’t take long for President Trump’s whirlwind of actions to hit a brick wall — at least temporarily. Saturday, the U.S. Supreme Court “punted” on weighing in on a case a lower court had ruled against the President. Trump’s attorneys filed an emergency appeal with the Supreme Court. Though the SCOTUS action might be final, they delayed in their decision to even respond on the merits of Trump’s appeal until the lower court’s appeal process expires next week. • One major U.S. news outlet refuses to follow the lead of President Trump’s decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico. Trump changed the name to the “Gulf of America.” All but one of the major United States’ legacy media outlets quickly changed their rules to call that historical stretch of water Trump’s new label in any references to the Gulf. Trump did not wait to take action against this news operation. He’s blocked that agency’s representatives from having access to White House press meetings and interviews. Most folks think it’s no big deal to change that name to “Gulf of America.” After all, it borders more of America than Mexico. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that the agency has sued the President! For complete details, click on this link:
  • More changes at the top of the Military occurred this week. President Trump announced a change at the top of the “Joint Chiefs of Staff.” In his statements announcing the change of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Trump had this to say about the General being replaced: “I want to thank General Charles “CQ” Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country, including as our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a fine gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish a great future for him and his family.” Who’s the replacement? For complete details, click on this link:
  • Most Americans — including this one — are getting more curious every day to know the details contained in classified documents regarding Jeffrey Epstein. The wealthy businessman was best known for his private Caribbean island that became a destination for wealthy Americans as well as famous politicians who wished to join sexual “jaunts” of every kind secretly. Some of the most famous Americans were implicated for their involvement in these trips. So have many famous European people, even from the Royal Family. Trump promised to release to the public all the details being held about Epstein as soon as possible. He also said the same regarding details of the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and President Kennedy’s brother, Robert F. Kennedy, Sr. Guess what? Newly appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi stated she has the documents on her desk and is awaiting their release! For complete details, click on this link:
  • The findings by DOGE so far in the investigation into wrongdoing at USAID are outlandish, to say the least. Revelations of massive waste and corruption continue to be exposed daily. DOGE has just scratched the surface! One former employee of USAID testified in a Congressional hearing in which revelations of the graft and misuse of U.S. taxpayer dollars reached the billions of dollars. Here’s that employee speaking to Congress:
