This past week has been a wild one…and it’s not over yet!
We have the most important stories of the week for you. We’ll dig into those in our bullet point format. By now, you certainly know the process:
- We give you a few sentences for each bullet point, describing the details.
- At the end of that description, you’ll see a blue arrow that you can click to go to a whole story about that point.
- If you do not want more details — or if you have already seen the story and don’t need any further information — go on to the next bullet point.
That’s pretty simple.
We do this weekly on Saturdays. It’s a great day to relax and catch up on the latest important news stories you may have missed while sipping a cup of java.
Let’s get started.
Bullet Points
- Controversial conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced she’s had enough of the arguments with President Trump. She announced she is resigning from the House after the first of the year. Though the two have been very vocal in negative ways about each other from time to time, I thought they’d work things out. But, apparently, the House is looking like it will lose another Republican member. For complete details, click on this link:

- It’s been amazing to watch Leftist Bill Maher go soft on President Trump over the past few years. Maher, a conditioned Democrat who never misses an opportunity to let everyone know how he feels about everything, shocked many when he chided Democrats for what they’re about to lose!
- By now, most have seen the post-meeting comments following Mamdani’s meeting with President Trump at the White House on Friday. No announcement was made before the meeting about whether or not the two would speak to the press after their get-together. However, they certainly did just that. The Media blasted them with the obvious questions, expecting to hear how feisty the meeting was. To the dismay of leftist media “experts,” both were jovial, complementary, and positive about the other when answering questions. I flipped over to CNN to see their coverage, and NONE of their pundits knew how to respond! There were no gunfights, spitting, or kicking, and CNN had no idea how to cover it. - One of the weapons the Democrats used against Republicans in the shutdown was the loss of millions of SNAP benefits for more than 40 million Americans because the government was not operating. Of course, Democrats blamed that all on Trump. However, the shutdown and its aftermath prompted many in government to review SNAP’s financial performance. And the findings were shocking to most who saw the details. It seems that SNAP has been paying for fast food for SNAP recipients to the tune of $500 million for only nine states — the only states that have given their numbers to the Feds! One can only guess how bad it will be when the other 41 states report their numbers. But there’s more! For complete details, click on this link:

- It has come to light that a Florida congresswoman has been charged with stealing millions of dollars from FEMA. The Democrat lawmaker created an intricate method to try to hide her taking and using of five million dollars that were moved through multiple accounts to “legitimize” the use of those FEMA dollars. Most of the money was used for personal benefits, plus funding of her own political campaign:
- Many political experts are puzzled because there has been little action — at least publicly — toward a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. In fact, Russian President Putin has given mixed signals across the media world that make it seem Ukraine invaded Russia instead of the other way around!
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Kyiv risks losing U.S. support over a White House plan on how to end the war with Russia. Addressing the nation on Friday, Zelensky said Ukraine “might face a tough choice: either losing dignity, or risk losing a key partner,” adding that “today is one of the most difficult moments in our history.” What is really going on? - It didn’t take long. The gerrymandering of Texas that created a “likely” five GOP new Congressional districts was temporarily blocked this week by a federal judge. However, that block was met with a “hold” issued by the U.S. Supreme Court. Texas’s redrawn GOP-friendly congressional districts are back, for now.
Justice Samuel Alito temporarily restored the state’s new map — expected to net Republicans up to five seats in the 2026 midterms — while the Supreme Court weighs a lower court’s decision to toss that map altogether. What is likely to happen? For complete details, click on this link:

- New information appeared in that strange case of a girl being found dead on a Carnival Cruise Line. The circumstances of her death are puzzling law enforcement officers. However, the cause of death has opened the door to a “possible” suspect in her killing. Anna Kepner died by asphyxiation resulting from a bar hold — an arm across the neck — a source briefed on the investigation told ABC News on Friday. Kepner was found dead under a bed, wrapped in a blanket and covered by life vests, according to a security source briefed on the investigation. - The strangest and shocking event of this past week has to be the release of the video of six Democrat lawmakers, each a former military veteran, oddly speaking to members of our military and intelligence community, telling them “it is OK to refuse to follow “illegal orders.” The insinuation, as defined by millions of Americans, is that these lawmakers are asking current members of the military and intelligence agencies to refuse to comply with specific orders issued by the Commander in Chief, President Trump. There are so many odd things about this that have millions of people asking what these leaders are actually promoting. Here are some thoughts:
- Former FBI Director James Comey is desperately trying to have the case against him dismissed in federal court. His current hope rests on unconfirmed information that the grand jury in this case did NOT see all the evidence. However, federal prosecutors on Friday confirmed the entire jury DID see all the evidence. All await the finding of the judge in the case. For complete details, click on this link:
