Gender Neutral Language in Legislation

As Americans, we really need to wake up and wake up quickly. Our children are under assault. Our families are under assault.

We’re all familiar with gender identity, “proper” pronouns, DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion), and all of the “isms.” However, one thing that seems to be missing — even though the public has awakened to all of these social attack weapons — is the assault on the Family. And the assault is NOT relegated to one simple issue.

What was the first institution created on Planet Earth? No, it wasn’t the government. It wasn’t education. It certainly wasn’t politics. It was the Family. The original idea was for every part of life to be a result of family units.

Make no mistake, there have always been massive attacks on families. Until the last thirty years, those attacks were always manageable. When that changed, the societal masters began to take control of the nation’s entire social structure, and this continues to this day.

Parental separation, divorce, multiple wives and husbands, adoption, and same-sex marriage are the “isms” that evolved and grew in number and intensity. The government stepped up long ago and recognized “family” as a unit of humans with a father and wife to get it started. In most families, children ultimately resulted.

Religion—especially Christianity—has always been (in most societies) the proponent of the Family. Religious leaders, with some exceptions, have sought to protect the Family. However, things are changing.

For several centuries, schools have been the institutions parents call on for the second part of the learning cycle for children. Schools as an entity grew rapidly in the 1700s and became the go-to source of learning for most children. Obviously, not every parent felt the same way about the processes available for teaching family members. But there almost always seemed to be a method for feeding knowledge to children and to do so through schools.

However, as societal demands increased, Wokeness began to creep across the globe. Schools quietly morphed into Petri dishes for the purposeful experimentation of turning families from “biological groups” to “social groups.” With that came the purported need to move away from traditional families into “family units.” The traditional roles of fathers and mothers were scrapped. Now, these units that embrace an ideology of “biological choice” have destroyed every part of the centuries-old family ideal. Schools have become the Petri dishes of DEI.

Worst of all, the government has made itself the sole arbiter of the determination of the rights of every individual in these units. States across the nation have turned to legislators to craft and implement new “Parental Rights” laws that have surreptitiously torpedoed people who, for generations, embraced traditional family ideals. These laws are empowering school officials and lawmakers to end the traditional family model. Moms and Dads no longer have the rights that historically operated their families. The governments of multiple states have already seized systems and are making all the family rules.

As you might imagine, the driving forces of this powerful push are based on same-sex marriage, Homosexuality, and LGTBU+ ideology.

The Travesty Of Family Destruction

Massachusetts, the cradle of American liberty, is now rocking the cradle of political correctness with its latest legislative masterpiece. Let’s dive into the brave new world where “mother” and “father” are apparently too out of date for the powers that be. Let’s cut through the progressive fog and see what this really means for families, society, and the future of the state and the USA.

The Massachusetts Parentage Act, recently passed by the state senate with bipartisan support, aims to redefine the legal qualification of a parent. This bill replaces gendered terms like “mother” and “father” with gender-neutral language, purportedly to ensure legal parentage equality for all children, regardless of their parent’s marital status, gender, sexual orientation, or use of assisted reproduction.

The legislation simplifies processes for nonbiological parents and eliminates the need for formal adoption to share parental rights with a birth parent. This move made Massachusetts the last state in New England to update its parentage laws, following similar changes in neighboring states.

Impact on Society and Legal Practices

The bill’s supporters argue that it reflects the diverse realities of modern families and provides essential safeguards for children, especially when traveling out of state. Polly Crozier, director of family advocacy for GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders, stated, “This bill ensures that our laws catch up to the realities of modern families and provides essential safeguards for children, especially when traveling out of state.”

Critics, however, express concerns about the erosion of traditional family structures and the potential long-term societal impacts of removing gendered language from legislation. The bill’s passage comes at a time of heightened national debate over reproductive and LGBTQ rights, particularly in the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Legislative Process and Political Context

The Massachusetts Parentage Act underwent extensive technical scrutiny involving numerous stakeholders over an extended period. Rep. Michael Day emphasized the complexity of the process, stating, “It was a surprisingly technical bill. We had to make sure we got it right. There were many, many stakeholders involved in the discussions that went on for months, if not years, to make sure we did get it right.”

The bill’s passage in the final hours of the legislative session highlights its priority for lawmakers. Senator Julian Cyr, a key proponent of the bill, expressed pride in its bipartisan support and timing, noting, “I’m just so proud that we got this done before the end of the session and also before November.”

Implications for the Future

As Massachusetts joins its New England neighbors in updating parentage laws, the question remains: Will this trend spread to other states, potentially reshaping family law across the nation? The bill’s passage may serve as a blueprint for similar legislation elsewhere, particularly in states with progressive leanings.

Governor Maura Healey, a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, is expected to sign the bill into law. She previously stated, “We’ve been proud to be a national leader and trailblazer when it comes to LGBTQ+ equality, but we’ve got some catching up to do. Let’s pass the Massachusetts Parentage Act to make sure every family has the legal protections they need and deserve.”

As Massachusetts charts this new course in family law, the ripple effects on society, legal practices, and cultural norms remain to be seen. One thing is certain: The debate over gender-neutral language in legislation is far from over, and the Bay State’s bold move will undoubtedly fuel discussions across the nation for years to come.

Summary

Our children today are the targets of an ideology that is already turning societal norms upside down. This ideology is screaming across the U.S. and the World and is practically impossible to stop. Why? The Social Arbiters leading the fray control the narrative. Their narrative ignores history, biology, fundamental humanity, and hetero-marriage and family structure.

This race to the left started among educators and has quietly moved on to Corporate America.

Wokeism didn’t create this Parental Rights war. However, it certainly has poured gasoline on the already burning fire of animosity, hatred, and individualism daily. Moms and Dads are close to being “phased out” of family units.

Thirty-two states have either already passed new “Parental Rights” bills that are each pending or have already been signed into law. Sadly, most parents in these states have no idea what has happened. They yet have no idea of the change that is in store for their families.

What’s the greatest tragedy of this? The government, in large part, has kept this as quiet as possible. They think, “What they don’t know won’t hurt them.”

Don’t bet on that…
