This week ended with a shocking opinion issued by the United States Supreme Court. However, the week was full of other important happenings. Probably, the “other” big happening of the week was a “happening” that didn’t happen. Most Americans thought the 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie would have certainly been found by now. Sadly, there’s no there there: as of today. Let’s keep hoping for her return healthy to her family, and soon.
Let’s weigh in on the biggest and most important stories of the week. If you are new to our “Saturday Bullet Points,” here’s how they work:
- Read the brief explanation of the content of a bullet point;
- If you want further details, click on that blue arrow to read a complete story about that story’s content;
- If you do NOT want more details, just move down to the next bullet point.
That’s all there is to it! It’s a good way to make certain you get all of the week’s big stories and complete details. And you get to do so, leisurely drinking coffee in your easy chair.
Let’s crank it up!
Saturday Bullet Points
- A Democrat member of the U.S. House of Representatives is keeping quiet and not talking about the details surrounding her being indicted for illegally keeping cash from her campaign. Doing so, by the way, is illegal. Who is she? Where is she from? How egregious are her actions?

- The landscape for multiple nations is not looking too good in the upcoming days. The World watched as Venezuela President and First Lady were snatched away in the middle of the night and are awaiting trial for the allegations against them. In the aftermath, Venezuela’s government was “pushed aside” and is operating under the watch of the U.S. Several other Caribbean countries may also be facing similar actions. Texas U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) predicts regime change for one more nation there, plus a “probable” overthrow of a Middle East country that is in President Trump’s bullseye.

- European and Middle Eastern countries are cautiously watching the massive buildup of the U.S. Military in their region. The impetus for this is the warning from President Trump to Iran, warning the rogue nation to immediately cease its pursuit of nuclear weapons and also relinquish its ballistic missile operations. Even Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned all nations in that region to “be nice” and careful not to cross the U.S. after our President gave Iran “10-15 days to cease using those missiles and their uranium enrichment to make a nuclear bomb.”

- New Yorkers chose a new mayor who promised to flood wealthy citizens and corporations with massive taxes to pay for the plethora of “freebies” he promised the people he would enact if elected. It was certain he would take some of these actions. However, few thought he would hammer New Yorkers immediately, and the way he plans:
- For years, Las Vegas has been one of “The” go-to vacation spots for Americans and other people from around the World. Its lights, excitement, gambling, entertainment, and sporting events have drawn millions to the “City in the Desert.” However, things are changing in Vegas, and changing quickly and shockingly. Casinos are bracing for the largest loss in visitor decline since the COVID Pandemic.

- In last year’s elections, Seattle got a new mayor. And she is proving to be a doozy! Democrat Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is a female version of Zoran Mamdani. Mamdani promised New Yorkers he would make NYC “affordable again.” He promised he would give everything to New York’s citizens for free. (Maybe not everything, but bus and subway for sure, and even more in the way of groceries.) Seattle’s new Mayor gave her first State of the City address on Tuesday. And it was a disaster! Seattle’s citizens may be in for the same ride as New Yorkers.

- With Trump serving his second term as President, Americans thought the upcoming midterm elections would be an automatic bloodbath for the Democrats. It’s not looking to be headed that way. In fact, neither the GOP nor the Democrat Party has any certainty of a victory, although both parties are desperate to do so. The problem for both parties? Neither owns the one thing it will take for either party to win.

- Most Americans find television stars and shows, and find themselves deeply in love with their favorites. However, common sense dictates that Americans should carefully determine the truth in what networks show and tell us. Meghan Kelly on Thursday revealed a nasty slap in the face of one of that network’s stars, Savannah Guthrie. NBC proves major networks are NOT loyal to their own.
- A shocking story from Florida has shocked the fans of the frontrunner to replace Ron DeSantis as governor after his final term. A GOP favorite and leader in the U.S. House is embroiled in a scandal that is shocking the state and may impact the upcoming governor’s race.

- The U.S. is reeling from the 10-20 million illegal aliens Joe Biden brought into the country during his presidency. We may never know the cost to our nation as 8% of Nicaraguan’s population came to the United States! “Illegal immigration is siphoning American resources,” Homeland Security posted on X. We may never know how many American dollars were sent by illegals in the U.S. to relatives in their home country. However, much of those dollars would have remained here to be earned by Americans who lost jobs to the cheaper labor, which was one of Biden’s purposes for flooding the nation.

- In the fight against the SAVE Act, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is imploding as he continues to spew lies to Americans, intimating that the SAVE Act is the same thing as “Jim Crow 2.o.” Exactly what is the “Jim Crow Act 2.0?” How does it compare to the “SAVE Act?”
- Friday was a tough day for President Trump. The U.S. Supreme Court released its decision in the Federal Appeal brought by the Trump Administration, agreeing that the President had no authority to levy tariffs. The responsibility for doing so belongs to Congress. However, this opinion does NOT mean tariffs are illegal. It meant that the policy used to initiate the tariffs was NOT the right one to use. In fact, many tariffs will remain in place with new ones planned that will be based on the correct legislation to do so.
