Saturday Bullet Points: November 8, 2025

Nothing is permanent in Washington, D.C. except for one thing: nothing is permanent! What is happening today regarding the Schumer Shutdown confirms it once more. However, as we consider our important stories of the week, it may be possible that as you read this “Bullet Point” missive, we may have a bridge to throw away the shutdown before the weekend is over! Regardless of the status of that debacle, many important things have transpired this week, some of which you may have missed. We’ve grabbed the top stories of the week and will highlight them for you below.

Let’s get going!

Bullet Points

  • After Tuesday’s New York City mayoral election results were announced, a large number of wealthy Americans living in the Big Apple began looking for a new home address. There are quite a few “good” places New Yorkers could choose as their new addresses across the nation. However, it appears Florida may be the number one choice for most of those planning to go. In fact, one Florida real estate developer stepped up to the plate and is formally opening the door to the expected large number of New Yorkers relocating. The CEO of BH Group in Miami, Isaac Toledano, explained that his company has already closed more than $100 million in signed contracts from New York buyers in just the past few months. • Democratic leaders are gloating over Mamdani’s victory on Tuesday, acting as if it were a blowout. If one looks at the numbers, Mamdani won by only a slim margin. Many of those New York City voters were caught up in the glamor surrounding Mamdani. Apparently, they did not know much about his policies or his intentions to change many of the policies that have been staples in the Big Apple for some time. In fact, in retrospect, tons of Mamdani supporters don’t actually know why they voted for him! How could that be? For complete details, click on this link:
  • Lost in the furor of the happenings in the U.S. is a horrifying revelation that Islamic extremists have made massive inroads into the American religious environment during the past few years. In fact, Islamists are so certain they will be successful in their push to accomplish a shocking turnover of much of the Christian environment in the U.S. and replace it with the details of their plan to do so. Newly elected NYC Mayor Mamdani is just the latest in a growing movement of radical Islamists openly declaring their plans to “conquer the West.” How could this have slipped into a massive number of Muslims here in the U.S. and us without our knowledge? • Forty-two million Americans who rely on the government’s SNAP program that provides monthly food products have been facing the likelihood that the Shutdown means SNAP benefits are also “shut down.” However, a federal judge on Thursday ordered the Trump Administration to pay all of the November SNAP benefits by the end of business today, November 7th. There’s a problem, though. Legislation passed by Congress authorizing this program states that these funds are to be used solely for “emergencies” and cannot be tapped for any other purpose. Where do we stand?

  • Mid-afternoon on Friday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) informed Republicans that Democrats are offering a plan to “end the record-setting government shutdown.” While details are sketchy at this time, the proposal is expected to include a one-year extension of Obamacare tax subsidies, along with a short-term spending deal. Schumer said, “We’d like to offer a simple proposal that would reopen the government and extend the ACA premium tax credits simultaneously, and then have the opportunity to start negotiating longer-term solutions to health care costs. Let’s do all three.” For complete details, click on this link:
  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture operates the SNAP program. Continually, massive fraud and misuse are exposed each year; however, little, if anything, has ever been done to find those who “steal” so much federal taxpayer dollars that the amounts, when revealed, are mind-boggling. So far in the Trump Administration, the USDA has made more than 100 arrests due to SNAP fraud since January. In a recent interview with Fox News, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins called the food stamps program “broken and corrupt.” This assessment came more than a month into the government shutdown that threatened to cut off SNAP benefits entirely. How bad is it? For complete details, click on this link:
  • The Senate Filibuster has been a highly controversial tool used by the U.S. Senate to prevent an opposition party from steamrolling the opposition by requiring a 60-vote threshold for any such legislation to pass. It was chiefly devised to protect a minority party from being bulldozed by those in the majority. During the current government shutdown, President Trump has pushed for Congress to eliminate the filibuster and return to a majority vote threshold to pass bills. Doing that, however, is a terrifying road to go down. House Speaker Mike Johnson is the top supporter in Congress of President Trump, but that certainly doesn’t mean he’ll do exactly what the President wants done. Johnson represents the people from Louisiana Congressional District Three in voting, not this president. Johnson explains in this video.
  • The Supreme Court stayed a Biden judge’s order in the case involving one of President Trump’s executive orders. The Court’s finding was widely lauded. However, one person is very upset about the Court’s finding: Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. President Trump signed an executive order on Jan. 20 directing his secretaries of state and homeland security to ensure that government-issued identification documents, including passports and visas, “accurately reflect the holder’s sex.” There is NO approval of such documents stating in any section what the identification holder’s “preferred” sex is. • The Supreme Court was busy today. After our Bullet Point above, we published, giving you the update of two federal courts finding that President Trump must pay all the SNAP dollars for November by “Friday — yesterday,” the Supreme Court went back to work and took those two federal district judges to task. The Court quickly determined the dollars at stake; these federal court judges demanded that Trump seize those emergency funds to pay SNAP, but SCOTUS ruled the opposite! What did they rule? • The world of cryptocurrency continues to roar and is consuming a massive sector of the World’s economy. Most Americans know little about crypto. Opposite of those folks who dived into the “new” currency and have already turned that knowledge into millions of dollars. One crypto founder who was prosecuted and jailed by Joe Biden — who despised everything about cryptocurrency — was pardoned by Donald Trump. In fact, this “founder” explains he was surprised to learn about Trump’s pardon. Why? He says he’s never met the President, doesn’t know him, and has never spoken to Trump! What’s this all about?
