Every day it becomes more obvious that President Biden’s commitment to fulfilling the wants of the far-left members of “The Squad” led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) supersedes the wants and needs of the general population — especially regarding energy. This massive “Social” infrastructure now before the U.S. Senate has very little to do with infrastructure and much to do with the dreams of “The Squad” and other environmentalists. Some actually put the split from this package at less than 20% for REAL infrastructure and 90% for items from AOC’s “Green New Deal” and other environmental pipe dreams. The justification, of course, is that “America is evil, selfish, and systemically racist.” (I’m way tired of that drivel) As always, the only cure for any type of racism, especially that dastardly monster of the “systemic” type, is to shovel trillions of taxpayer dollars into its massive gullet.
Enter President Joe Biden. He’s the champion of righteousness on every front for all Americans — especially for those who are not white and, even more so, those who aren’t even Americans but are being allowed by Uncle Joe to skip across our southern border into American utopia, funded by — of course — the American taxpayers.
“The Squad” brought with them the term “equity” and its use to further divide Americans. “Equality” as explained in the Declaration of Independence is no longer equality. Equality shaved its head, grew a scraggly beard, and hopped aboard the Systemic Racism train, and endowed “The Squad” and other activist Democrats. Equality brought the panacea of all panaceas with it to fix it all: “Equity.”
Equality is a right “endowed by our Creator” and not passed out by anyone. Therefore, in the world of the Left, it’s untenable to consider there being anything critical to Americans that the Left cannot control. And, after all, the Creator holds exclusive rights to equality. And Equality is absolute, needs no assistance, and is available to all. That’s a sticking point to AOC and “The Gang.” NOTHING can be allowed in their work that they do NOT unilaterally control. Therefore, they have the “fix:” Equity.
You may ask, “Why is pushing for equity over equality such a big deal?” Here’s why: Equity determines that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome. The people in this process are meaningless to the purveyors of all its parts. All that matters is that there must be someone empowered to determine ALL the differences between people, determine ALL the contents of what must be allocated, and, more importantly, determines who gets what and how much!
That’s a bit different from rights “to” and “for” everyone that are determined by equality and are inalienable. (Dang! There’s that “Constitution thing” again.)
Climate Change is the perfect foil for hiding this push for Equity by the Left. And it all begins with taking over the energy sector of the nation. And “take over the energy sector” is exactly what Biden did his first day as President. His cancellation of the XL Pipeline permits knee-capped American energy. In just one day, the U.S. that became energy independent for the first time in 20+ years just two months earlier found itself no longer capable of producing enough carbon energy for itself. Therefore, we once again are buying oil from OPEC and now from Russia! It sounds a bit suspicious to me. Russia selling us 6-8 million barrels of oil a month now when we had not bought any from Russia in decades doesn’t make sense — until you remember those big paydays for the Biden Family Syndicate from Russian sources that came through Hunter Biden. (Do you think this Department of Justice is looking into Joe’s ties to Russia?)
Americans Pay a BIG Price
Gasoline at the pump in my town was $1.65/gallon on election day 2020. Today at the same station it is $2.65. And the Biden gang keeps telling us the small amount of inflation we have today is “just temporary.” In truth, inflation is just now getting out of the starting blocks.
Just when you think the inflation story from the White House might be true, we learn that Joe Biden has resorted to begging foreign energy suppliers to immediately increase their oil production. Why would he do that? His overall approval ratings are dropping like a rock weekly. And one key reason for that is the cost of gas and the resulting rising inflation!
Want some REAL irony? President Biden’s latest policy push has us doing not just a double-take but a triple take: The man who’s put roadblock after roadblock in the way of North American energy companies in pursuit of his vow to decarbonize the U.S. economy is begging OPEC to boost fossil-fuel production.
Why? The prez complains the high price of gas is hurting the post-pandemic economic recovery. Seriously.
“OPEC+ must do more to support the recovery,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan declared Wednesday, and his boss backed him up. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies cut 10 million barrels a day — 10 percent of global demand — at the pandemic’s start as demand dried up. It’s since raised output by about 4.2 million barrels a day and promises to add another 400,000 barrels a day until it’s back to pre-COVID levels.
“Simply not enough,” says Sullivan, as Biden “has made clear that he wants Americans to have access to affordable and reliable energy, including at the pump.”
That’s news to us. When Biden killed the Keystone XL pipeline which would have brought 830,000 barrels of Canadian oil a day down south, he killed thousands of good-paying jobs with it. In March, he put a moratorium on oil leasing on federal land, which a judge later found to be illegal. Later, he canceled Trump-era oil leases in Alaska.
Biden has made combating climate change a top priority — and declared war on the American energy industry to do it.
But somehow foreign carbon fuels get exempted. He waived sanctions on Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline that aims to get gas to Germany. And now he’s pushing Saudi Arabia and other less-than-democratic countries to pump — even as his team confesses it isn’t making the same ask of domestic producers — because gas is at $3.18 a gallon, up more than $1 over last year. Do the added emissions from tankers shipping oil here not count?
An energy-independent America can make better foreign-policy decisions, particularly in the Middle East. Under President Donald Trump, the nation was becoming the world’s top energy producer. But Biden, keen to appease environmentalists at home, would rather gut the American industry, make the country reliant on foreign oil and tie his own diplomatic hands. It’s the perfect picture of cognitive dissonance.
Summary
Folks, regardless of what AOC and The Squad or Bernie Sanders or Al Gore or John Kerry say, American energy needs CANNOT be replaced anytime soon by any single or combination of so-called “clean energy” sources. There simply are not enough of those to go around. Joe Biden’s push for it to happen does nothing but alienate the American public to the idea of clean energy because it doesn’t fulfill our needs.
Secondly, Americans are in large off the reservation when it comes to Biden border policies which are little more than a cup full of sand. There are no “Biden Border Policies!” Just opening the border in direct contradiction to numerous federal laws is NOT a border policy, it is pure lawlessness.
Third, the Biden ushering of the nation into the inflation world of former President Jimmy Carter has caused the inflation needle to peg off the charts: “Bidenflation.” No economist can believe this has happened so quickly. Will we ever see the days of prime interest at 20% just as Carter ushered in are unlikely. But even 10% prime will send costs skyrocketing in every sector of our economy. With that comes unbearable life for America’s middle and lower-income people who struggle today to make ends meet. Raising the prices of everything any at all will devastate a massive number of Americans.
Biden’s answer to the inflation question is to simply quip: “Experts say it will be only temporary.” As usual, NO facts, NO “expert’s” quotes, NO explanations. Just that Democrat mantra in which they tell all who question: “Just sit down, shut up, and do what we say.”
Finally — as if this is not enough — there’s no possible realistic explanation for the abandonment by the American military of Afghanistan. There is an untold number of Afghani citizens who have and will die at the hands of the Taliban that did NOT have to die at all.
Biden and VP Harris were quick to blame this horror on Donald Trump who set an arbitrary date for leaving Afghanistan on May 1 of this year. “All we did was fulfill what Trump had committed to do,” is the cry from the Biden Administration. But there’s one small bit of information they choose to leave out of their blame game: Trump had a plan!
Pres. Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had met with and negotiated with the Afghan government and the Taliban a departure process for the U.S. to transition the security of Afghanistan to the Afghan military. Trump was demonstrative in explaining to the Taliban what would happen if they violated the agreement. He said the U.S. would destroy them!
Biden’s Secretary of State Blinken famously stated, “The U.S. did not go to Afghanistan to take over the country. We were there to assure no terrorist operations would headquarter in Afghanistan specifically to launch attacks on the U.S. and other western countries. We completed that task!”
We could exhaust your day with example after example of the lack of leadership in this Administration. But our list would be incomplete if we tried. Why? This administration is NOT organized, NOT committed to the safety of our homeland, and NOT structured to handle ANY emergency situation.
President Biden is a feckless leader that has NO ability to lead this or any other nation. Former Sec. of Defense nailed the reality of Biden with a statement regarding all of Biden’s foreign policy decisions. Gates said, “Joe Biden has been wrong on EVERY foreign policy position he has ever held.” That aptly sums the Joe Biden who’s in the White House today.
Blinken and Biden both stated when asked that our withdrawal from Afghanistan would NOT mirror our departure from Saigon at the end of the Vietnam debacle. Sadly, it is not only Saigon deja vu, it’s worse! We may never know how many Afghan lives will be lost because of Biden’s decisions on this issue. We certainly will never know how many loyalists among the Afghani people will die because they trusted the Americans and helped the Americans who promised to take care of them if/when we leave their nation. Monday the Taliban were going door to door in Kabul to find loyalists to the U.S. and were executing them. And those who assisted us in numerous ways during our 20 years there are losing their lives because Biden abandoned them.
Who would have thought the greatest nation in World history would ever have turned on a nation, abandoned those who committed their lives to our country in assisting us to identify and stop terrorists bent on U.S. destruction? That’s exactly what we are watching in horror today.
And it did NOT need to happen.
