I got your attention with the headline, for sure! Leftists that sneak a peek at our site went postal when they saw the story title. Maybe they’ll read the entire story.
Honestly, it hurts to think even SOME of any president’s policies are birthed from authoritarianism. And the fact that Democrats and others farther left than this president take pride in making baseless allegations against EVERY Republican that serves in the Congress and even the former President. Donald Trump was labeled even before he took office as an authoritarian.
Here’s the rub for me: I doubt all Democrats are stupid. Therefore, they either “believe” that label to be true or are stupid and do not even check Websters’ to learn what they are actually calling their fellow elected representatives. Let’s take a look:
Authoritarianism
Trump: An Authoritarian?
Almost immediately after Donald Trump won in 2016, the media relentlessly painted an image of the former entertainer and real-estate mogul as an ascendant authoritarian, a “strongman,” a dangerous populist who posed an existential threat to democracy. Although the press remains free, this portrayal still pervades headlines as major outlets declare former Vice President Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 presidential election.
Cable news and mainstream publications described Trump’s pursuit of recounts and litigation as dubious or out of a despotic “playbook.” At the same time, other outlets such as The Atlantic celebrated voters for “stopping an authoritarian populist.” In a rather flagrant display of arrogance, one writer at the Washington Post even credited her fellow journalists for having “saved democracy” through their antagonistic coverage of the president.
These constant allegations of autocracy are especially jarring when evaluated alongside the plethora of actual authoritarian regimes plaguing the world today: emerging dictators corrupting elections in Belarus and Hungary; Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin censoring, jailing, or assassinating their political opponents; and the Chinese Communist Party perpetrating genocide against millions of ethnic and religious minorities.
Read through the many articles on Trump’s supposed fascism. They inevitably center around rhetoric: Trump challenges political norms, speaks with open disdain for his opponents, spreads doubt about institutions such as the press, and “fibs” quite a lot.
Rhetoric, however, is just rhetoric until it becomes policy. Mean tweets and arrogance are not enough to qualify a democratically elected executive as “fascist.” Upon examination, Trump protected individual freedom time and again. By appointing more than 200 judges, including three originalist justices to the Supreme Court, Trump strengthened checks on his own power and ensured more courts would reduce activist policymaking for decades to come.
Trump signed legislation in 2017 removing penalties associated with the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate, which coerced Americans to enroll in government-run health care. His Tax Cuts and Jobs Act enabled greater economic participation by lowering tax rates across the board, empowering people, not the government, to spend more of their own money.
Trump’s First Step Act reduced overcriminalization by lowering mandatory minimums and expanding early-release programs. His administration has steadfastly supported school choice while restoring due process for university students through improved Title IX regulations.
Perhaps most illuminating is the president’s response to COVID-19. Could a would-be dictator dream of a perfect opportunity to seize emergency powers and expand his authority than with the sudden, rapid emergence of a worldwide pandemic?
Yet as even far-left magazine Mother Jones noted, Trump instead opted to “push authority down onto the states and away from the federal government.” Indeed, it is ironic that the president’s critics seemingly argued he had not been enough of a strongman in his pandemic response.
For those unconvinced, consider the dictators of recent history. Fascists such as Fidel Castro, Benito Mussolini, and Adolf Hitler were active in politics throughout their lives, deeply committed to a specific ideology, and served in the military or government for decades before their ascent. Is it rational or likely that a septuagenarian with no political or military background, who has spent decades as a high-profile celebrity running beauty pageants and reality television shows, harbors secret aspirations to overthrow democracy?
Then There’s Joe Biden And Kamala Harris
Conversely, Biden consistently advocated expanding governmental power to combat COVID-19 via more lockdowns and a national mask mandate. As vice president, Biden oversaw plenty of troublesome policies, such as Obamacare’s coercive individual mandate and, most egregiously, family separation at the border. Let’s also not forget that he has yet to disprove his involvement in a massive “pay-for-play” scandal with foreign entities while in office.
Kamala Harris, meanwhile, has a political record rife with malpractice. As California’s attorney general, she prosecuted thousands for marijuana-related offenses and punished parents of truant children. She promised to rewrite immigration and gun laws by executive decree unilaterally during her presidential bid. Both Biden and Harris have yet to oppose adding justices to the Supreme Court in what would be a naked attempt to advance radically left policy.
Driving the Democratic Party is a radical, far-left bloc that increasingly dominates civil and corporate institutions. Inspired by various strains of Marxist thought, a favored ideology of dictators, mind you, these people orchestrated riots in American cities for all of 2020, rallying behind an “anti-fascist” name but employing strikingly fascistic strategies: looting, destroying property, censoring, and violently coercing innocent civilians through mob-like intimidation.
Democratic representatives continue to refuse to disavow these agitators and increasingly adopt their tactics. Even before the media crowned Biden the 2020 winner, for instance, members of Congress and left-leaning journalists alike requested lists of all people “complicit” in Trump’s administration. What purpose would this serve, other than future censorship, retribution, and intimidation?
Remember this? “You Can’t Legislate By Executive Orders Unless You’re A Dictator.”
Have you taken a look at the plethora of E.O.’s signed by this president to specifically circumvent the legislative process? And it’s not just with executive orders alone. In those cases where he chooses NOT to use E.O.’s, he initiates a “directive.”
The Biden administration engaged in a full-scale purge of all Trump appointees sitting on federal government advisory boards and commissions immediately after taking office.
- Trump appointees were sent letters requesting their resignations. The letters also said the appointees would be fired if they did not resign.
- Former Trump White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was removed from the Naval Academy Board, while Trump’s former senior counselor Kellyanne Conway was dismissed from her position on the Air Force Academy Board.
- Widely respected former national security adviser and retired Lt. General H.R. McMaster was removed from his position at West Point.
But it wasn’t just military academy boards that were targeted. The purge also affected positions in organizations most Americans don’t even know exist, such as the Arctic Research Commission.
Make no mistake — this is unprecedented in United States history. No administration has sought to purge all of a preceding administration’s non-political appointees in such a manner.
Defending the move, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki asserted that “the president’s objective is what any president’s objective is — to ensure you have nominees and people serving on these boards who are qualified to serve on them and who are aligned with your values.”
However, that excuse is belied by the firing of McMaster, who has plenty of military experience and was more than qualified for his position at West Point.
Therefore, it is clear that the sole motivation behind this unprecedented action was to remove those not “aligned,” as Psaki put it, with the Biden regime’s radical political agenda.
This is the very definition of totalitarianism.
But Uncle Joe wasn’t finished.
Less than 24 hours later, he dragged the country further toward authoritarianism by issuing a stunning executive order mandating COVID-19 vaccines for as many as 100 million Americans.
Worse yet, he did it by forcing private corporations to act as enforcers, putting business leaders in the position of gathering private health information from all employees and using it as the basis for deciding who is allowed to work for them.
It’s the same approach – turning citizens into informants and enforcers against their fellow citizens – that countless authoritarian governments have employed throughout history to enhance their power and control.
This unprecedented interference into the personal healthcare of millions of Americans was both immoral and unconstitutional, and numerous Republican governors took immediate legal actions against these policies.
Summary
Please make no mistake; Democrats are all-in on the authoritarianism espoused by this President and those in his administration. How else can one explain the persistence of this President and most who work for him in ignoring local, state, and federal laws? The debacle at our southern border illustrates it best.
The Constitution gives sole authority to the federal government to “manage” our borders. Congress created the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol to do just that. In addition, federal laws were passed to regulate every aspect of “legal” immigration. There were NO “illegal immigration” laws crafted for obvious reasons.
In this Biden “wide-open” border atmosphere, one could logically assume those in government who control federal law enforcement want massive illegal immigration to change the ethnicity of our citizenry. Yes, these same “border law deniers” want illegals here and give them the right to vote to pack the Democrat Party. Why? To give and perpetuate the Democrat Party majority status. In other words, they want TOTAL control of the U.S. government.
It’s easy for conservatives to claim that there will be a tsunami at the ballot box in November that will give the GOP majority status in the House and the Senate. They plan to reshape all these and other horrors foisted on Americans by Joe Biden. But there’s a problem. Many of these policies that can be terminated or reversed will have already caused the egregious harm to Americans that cannot be reversed.
Democrat Party leaders realize this, but they also glory in knowing it!
What can conservatives do about this?
Certainly, November 8 is a day to circle on one’s calendar. That’s the day conservatives pray they have votes sufficient to send Democrats in Congress packing. That would “help” the cause to rid authoritarian representatives in Congress. But no guarantee will fix the problem.
I encourage all the contemplate your options of things you might do to shine your light of truth on Joe Biden, all those in executive positions in this government, and reveal to the people in your circle of influence exactly what is happening at the hands of Joe Biden.
The louder we scream, the more people hear our message.
We MUST secure our “true” democracy — not the “democracy” the left espouses, which is the exact opposite of democracy — it’s “Autocracy.” And Joe Biden is the left’s Wizard of Oz. Someone gives him talking points, and he spews the leftist drivel from behind the curtain to a willing electorate.
Be persistent and thorough with your intent and activation. Act as if your life depends on it. Why? Because it DOES!
