Steve Baker — Investigative Journalist — has for the last year appeared each Tuesday on our show. If you are unfamiliar with Steve, here’s a brief synopsis of what he’s been up to:
On January 6, 2021, Steve went to Washington, D.C., to chronicle the events of the day. He is a prolific videographer. Because of his quest for truth in this melee of insanity in which we find ourselves living, he committed to capture the truthful events of that day.
As it turned out, Steve’s videos — which are incredibly revealing of the day with shocking timing for all of the important happenings — have resonated with news audiences around the World. News networks from around the Globe have used his videos to bring to citizens of multiple countries.
Steve’s work was not lost to our Department of Justice. The FBI put him on notice two years ago, met with him and his attorney, and stated that a “likely” subpoena and “possible” indictment were coming. Nothing came of those conversations — until last week.
Steve is about to receive a subpoena “To Appear” before a federal grand jury regarding the videos he made that day.
I lost none of this. And, weekly, Steve has shared details of his deep-dive into the treatment of multiple defendants from January 6, 2021. He spent hours in courtrooms covering the trials of many. He’s recorded and published numerous interviews with several defendants and even other people who were there as innocent visitors who wanted to chronicle the events at “their” Capitol in “their” government.
Yesterday (Tuesday, August 8, 2023), Steve shared details with us live on “TNN Live!” This happening to one of our own shocked me to my toes. We pulled yesterday’s segment from our show and put it below for you to hear. It will tell you much about Steve and what he’s facing. But he’s not the only one. There are hundreds if not thousands, of Americans who went to see how government works. Many were caught up in the emotion and historic nature of the day. Many others let emotion and political anger lead them to commit tragic acts that resulted in the U.S. Department of Justice taking legal action.

I’ve been blessed for the last year to be a regular participant and contributor to TNN Live. During that time, I’ve been able to express my fears, frustrations, and hopes for the direction of our country, as well as share with you much of my work — from the weaponization of our government agencies against the American people to my daily coverage of so much that is still going on with the aftermath of the January 6 riot.
For reasons yet unknown, I am likely about to face the greatest challenge of my life. A week from today, I will be traveling back to our nation’s capital — not to continue my investigation of those 3-letter agencies — but to appear before a federal grand jury now investigating my non-violent activities on January 6, 2021.
