The American Sniper: Would He Approve?

The AMERICAN SNIPER, Chris Kyle obviously had a different perspective about things regarding Iraq and Afghanistan than we Americans who have never been or participated in any Mideast war. If he was still alive I’m sure he would weigh in on the current controversy over temporarily blocking immigration from 7 countries regarding our inadequate vetting process. If the immigration vetting process was adequate it could assure Americans (and the rest of the World) that terrorists were NOT coming to the U.S. disguised as people simply seeking a better life with better opportunity here. But Chris is not here and obviously cannot share his learned opinion. But one person who was very close to Kyle has chosen to weigh in on the topic — his interpreter Johnny Walker. When asked about his thoughts regarding President Trump’s recent executive order on an immigration stay on those from those nations, here’s what Walker had to say:

“I agree 100% with President Trump’s decision. The national security of the United States is a paramount issue. All President Trump is doing is ensuring that people can go about their day without living in so much fear. Women won’t have to worry about walking around the mall; kids won’t have to worry about going to the school. Look, these countries don’t have a database that keeps track of its citizens. And we can’t depend on a government database in countries that do, because if they have one it has a political agenda behind it. It wouldn’t be hard for someone to get into the U.S. whose loyalty lies with ISIS or a militia aligned with Iran. While the militia isn’t necessarily our enemy right now, they don’t have loyalty to the U.S., they are loyal to the interests of the government that funds them. And that government says ‘Death to America.’ ISIS’s strongholds are in Iraq and Syria. We all know what they want to do to Americans.”

Walker continued, “Besides, the government of Iraq is involved with the militia who gets all their support from Iran, the number-one state sponsor of terrorism. ISIS has a haven in Libya. Al-Shabaab is in Somalia and has pledged their allegiance to ISIS. Iran has several terrorist groups affiliated with it. Yemen has Al-Qaeda, ISIS and the militia. And in Sudan, Hamas raises money for terrorism and has a presence. The bottom line is this: Americans need to understand that this is for national security.”

But Walker does have some difficulty with a portion of the President’s EO: “But we also need to be concerned with the interpreters, linguists and soldiers who worked shoulder-by-shoulder with the U.S. to fight against terrorists. There are thousands of translators and friendly forces over there who earned the right to come to America. They’ve all become targets to groups like ISIS because they worked with America. They made many sacrifices in doing so, they deserve a second chance.”

Walker continued, taking about his experience as an interpreter himself: “I was one of those translators. I worked with Navy SEALs to help kill the enemy. Working with the American military, made my family and me a target. Al-Qaeda murdered my brother because of me helping the Americans. There are translators over there, who have proved their loyalty. ISIS and other groups keep a list of their names. It’s not like in Washington, D.C., you can’t just hide out somewhere. In all seven countries, you’re either known by your family or tribe, and everyone is connected. You cannot hide yourself, they will find you. When the terrorists find you, they don’t just murder you, they murder your brother, sister, dad, mom, grandparents, cousin, and friends, too.”

Should everyone from Iraq be allowed to come to the U.S.? “No, I don’t believe that everyone deserves to come here, but the ones who showed their loyalty do.” About President Trump’s decision for the temporary ban: “I am in full support of the decision that the president has made. We all need to forget about ourselves and put American lives first. Trump’s decision will help prevent terrorism and the death of more innocent people.”

In this conversation, many have taken to calling anyone who agrees with a ban from immigrants from these countries as racist. Of course people from the Middle East are NOT of another race at all, they are of a different ethnicity. In closing, Walker had a few words for those playing the “race card:” “What about all the other rich Muslim countries? They banned Muslim immigration from the very beginning. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar— are they racist, too?”

In closing, take a close look at the picture below. Believe it or not, this is a state-of-the-art fully self contained refugee center complete with everything necessary to house comfortably 1 million plus people. It’s ready to go with complete plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and pretty much all the creature comforts. And it’s sitting….empty….in Saudi Arabia. It was built to accommodate Middle Eastern refugees as this facility was needed. But it’s empty. And it’s empty for religious reasons — religious bigotry. In the Muslim religion, Sunni and Shia don’t mix well. And so rather than try to accommodate refugees of both Muslim sects, the Saudis simply prefer to not accommodate either refugee sect.

Immigration Hypocrisy: Senator Chuck Schumer

It is amazing to me that many in Congress forget the World has YouTube and Google. Nothing any public figure says today is missed in media and is recorded and stays “somewhere” forever. Senator Chuck Schumer from New York has become the central figure in the fight for Immigration Reform from the Democrat Party side. And he has persistently blasted President Trump for all things immigration. Yesterday he vehemently attacked the President for the temporary Immigration stay issued by President Trump in his executive order. In doing so he actually shed tears on camera. I cannot in good conscience weigh in on the seriousness of his tears, but in light of his previous stances on illegal immigration and possible terrorism that could result, I question his authenticity. Nevertheless, he as many other “mainstreamers” play to the “wind of the day” when it comes to their political stances. In fairness, Senator Schumer has been a constant supporter of immigration reform. But he has also pushed for immigration actions to limit terrorists’ access to the United States. Hmmm……I thought that’s what President Trump’s Executive Order was designed to do, right? Well anyway, here’s what the Senator stated a while back about his immigration thoughts:

“The recent attack in Paris was an attack on free peoples everywhere, and the United States must make sure that terrorists cannot enter this country or purchase firearms and explosions” said Schumer. “Congress should immediately take action to guard against terrorists sneaking in through the Visa Waiver program as well as the dangerous and indefensible loophole that allows people on the terrorist watch list to purchase guns and explosives. I will be urging my colleagues to start focusing on the real solutions to the dangers posed by ISIS.” This was obviously said a while ago. In fact he made the statement November 19 of 2015. An explanation of his desires was posted on his senatorial website and states: “U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer today announced a new two-pronged push to ensure that ISIS terrorists are not able to slip into the United States through the Visa Waiver Program or allowed to purchase firearms and explosives. As many as 20 million visitors come into the United States each year through the program, which allows international visitors from designated countries to legally bypass the traditional visa process. Experts have raised concerns about the prospect of an ISIS recruit attempting to travel to the U.S. on a fraudulent paper passport issued by a country that participates in the Visa Waiver Program, which would allow that individual to avoid biometric screening and an in-person interview before departure, which is required of prospective refugees, along with multiple other checks. In addition, Schumer said Congress should immediately close the loophole that allows people on the terrorist watch list to purchase firearms and explosives.”

Short of Senator Schumer’s concerns about ISIS terrorist access to guns in the U.S., President Trump’s executive order not only covers what the Senator wanted in 2015, it even stiffens it a bit. And it is a temporary ban on immigration from those countries with the exception of Syria. His statements from 2015 do not align with his tears of yesterday nor his current stance on stopping terrorist immigration to the U.S.

But here’s what it does do: it lights the fire among low information liberals who do not take the time to find the truth for themselves. Rather they defer to leaders on the Left who continue to demagogue their decisions and choices as the only ones that are right for all. Senator Schumer’s cries that President Trump’s executive order is un-American and the continued cries of that throughout American media only illustrates many American’s unwillingness to find truth for themselves and opt to take the easy way to information — even when it’s false.

I said this on a Facebook post response last night and I’ll say it here: if you have not read President Trump’s executive order in full you do NOT have the right to say anything about it, good or bad. And I welcome all who read it and desire to respond here even negatively to do so. But instead of just crying fowl, please include factual information with references that further explain the fowl you claim. I can and will always respect differing opinions on any topic of discussion you see here. But don’t post bare opinions about this or any other topic unless you have at least researched and have obtained facts about that topic.

President Trump owes Americans the truth. So does Senator Schumer. Please give us facts and trust that we are smart enough to interpret facts ourselves. We are not dogs that need visits to obedience school.

Hypocrisy in the Politics of Immigration?

The hypocrisy on the Left is front and center in the midst of the fallout from President Trump’s temporary ban on immigration from the 7 countries identified as possible terrorist sources and placed by then President Obama on a “Watch List.” The hypocrisy screams even louder as the Liberal Left Media have all but ignored what President Obama did in 2011 in the face of terrorist concerns — he stopped processing immigration requests for ALL Iraqi refugees for six months.  Why?  By suggestion from Intelligence officials the pause was implemented because what was guaranteed as a more than adequate vetting system was discovered to have tremendous flaws.  You can read about this here in this story from THE FEDERALIST:

I could spend much time here railing against the specific factions and individuals who have filled valuable news time on television and radio and print space spewing venom at President Trump for his actions.  No doubt you nor anyone else can recall any such concerns for President Obama’s actions in 2011 that were initiated for — guess what — a couple of terrorists had slipped through the cracks of that amazing immigration vetting system and were actually living in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The sky is NOT falling…untruths and hypocrisies in the liberal media still abound…and already the only people who will benefit from this action or the television news networks and newspapers who are licking their chops at the dollars in advertising this new “Trump Travesty” will bring to their news operations because people for a short time will actually watch and listen to them, which interprets into ratings.  And, oh, let’s don’t forget that bastion of protection of Americans’ rights:  the ACLU.  In just 36 hours they have received $24 million in donations to go after President Trump in court.

But believe it or not, there are and will be more more real winners here.  The American people once all the dust settles, the lawsuits resolve themselves, the spineless politicians quietly slink into the background, will discover that their President has taken some temporary action to make America safe again and they have worked.  The difference between this President and the last in this matter is simple:  President Obama waited in 2011 until he was told his immigration action had allowed a couple of terrorists into the Nation, one of whom fingerprints had been found buried in the Middle East on an explosive device.  And he was living a few miles from a major U.S. military base in Kentucky!  President Trump, on the other hand, wants to make sure whatever immigration procedures are in place are adequate to prevent that and worse things do not happen again by stopping any additional terrorists to slip through the cracks.  And, yes, there are and will be some impositions for some while this process is completed.  But I am certain that small price for American security at Home is justifiable.

So I suggest to all the Immigration Hypocrites — both Republican and Democrat — take a seat and breathe deeply and let this process play out.  What we will certainly find is that our system of Immigration from at least those 7 watch list countries will be successful at keeping more bad guys from setting up terrorism shop in the U.S.  It just took a few to kill 3000 Americans on 9-11.  We do not need anymore.

Trump’s Muslim Ban

The cries against religious bigotry by the Trump Administration have begun.  Immediately after President Trump’s executive order implementing a temporary “stay” on U.S. acceptance of immigrants from 7 mostly Muslim nations, liberals are going nuts.  But once again, (partly thanks to false reporting by the U.S. liberal media) many Americans believe the President is banning Muslims.  But facts are facts.  And this temporary ban is NOT against Muslims (or any other religion for that matter).  Let’s look at facts:

First, immigration from 7 mostly Muslim countries was temporarily banned by the executive order.  Those 7 countries were identified as “countries of concern” regarding the origin of past terrorist activities in the U.S. and other countries.  They appeared on a list — a list that was prepared and released by the Obama Administration, not the Trump Administration.

Secondly, the ban against those from those countries into the U.S. is NOT a permanent ban, but a temporary ban.  The ban is only to allow U.S. Immigration officials time to make certain and guarantee the American people that the vetting process currently in place is sufficient to keep terrorists from coming to the United States.  Remember:  the heads of four of America’s intelligence organizations all reported to President Obama the immigration vetting process being used was NOT sufficient to assure no terrorists were slipping through.  And all four recommended such a temporary ban.

And finally, if President Trump’s desire was to ban Muslims, don’t you think he’d grab the list of the most Muslim populated countries in the World and list them all on this “Muslim Ban” list?  As mentioned above, the list being used was prepared by Homeland Security during the Obama Administration and NOT by the Trump Administration.  And that list does not include the 5 countries with the largest Muslim populations in the World: Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria.  “If” Trump was wanting to ban Muslims from U.S. immigration, he really made a stupid mistake.

Remember this:  it takes about 10 miles to turn a large ship around in the Ocean.  The United States Immigration Ship is arguably a pretty large ship and arguably has been headed in the wrong direction for some time.  The process of turning it around is going to be lengthy.  And most Americans feels strongly that the turnaround is necessary.  But it will take a while to get it done and get it right.

Protests?  They are an American privilege protected by the U.S. Constitution.  But for all those who are exercising that privilege I suggest you do so with facts.  Remember this:  when every U.S. President has taken their oath of office, in it they swear to protect the U.S. against any enemies, both foreign and domestic.  Obama with abandon let pretty much anyone into the U.S. with no regard of who they were and or they wanted.  He failed miserably at protecting us.  To get the process right after 8 years of there really being no protective process is going to take a bit and there will be a few speed bumps.  And I don’t think a “temporary pause” is too long to wait.

What really Causes Heart Attacks?

March 5, 2016 I suffered a heart attack.  They said it was a mild one.  I said it was a heart attack.  It scared me to death, especially since I had lost about 80 pounds and had kept it off for 2 years.  My blood pressure was good as was my cholesterol.  I don’t drink or smoke.  I was NOT the “perfect” candidate for what happened to me.  Since that day I’ve become a student of heart disease.  I ran across this message from a well known and well thought of doctor.  For me at least it is timely and very topical.  Please share with all those in your life who may be standing in that same heart attack line where I stood in March of 2016.

We physicians with all our experience, know how and authority often acquire a rather large selfishness that tends to make it hard to accept we are wrong. So, here it is. I openly admit to being mistaken. As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having done more than 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific proof.

I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labelled “opinion makers.” Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.

The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice.

 It Is Not Working!

These recommendations are no longer scientifically or morally defensible. The discovery a few years ago that inflammation in the artery wall is the real cause of heart disease is slowly leading to a paradigm shift in how heart disease and other chronic ailments will be treated.  The long-established dietary recommendations have created epidemics of obesity and diabetes, the consequences of which dwarf any historical plague in terms of mortality, human suffering and dire economic consequences.

Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before.  Statistics from the American Heart Association show that 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. These disorders are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers every year.  Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.

Inflammation is not complicated — it is quite simply your body’s natural defence to a foreign invader such as a bacteria, toxin or virus. The cycle of inflammation is perfect in how it protects your body from these bacterial and viral invaders. However, if we chronically expose the body to injury by toxins or foods the human body was never designed to process,a condition occurs called chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is just as harmful as acute inflammation is beneficial.

What thoughtful person would willfully expose himself repeatedly to foods or other substances that are known to cause injury to the body? Well, smokers perhaps, but at least they made that choice willfully.The rest of us have simply followed the recommended mainstream diet that is low in fat and high in polyunsaturated fats and carbohydrates, not knowing we were causing repeated injury to our blood vessels. This repeated injury creates chronic inflammation leading to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.  Let me repeat that: The injury and inflammation in our blood vessels is caused by the low fat diet recommended for years by mainstream medicine.

What are the biggest culprits of chronic inflammation? Quite simply, they are the overload of simple, highly processed carbohydrates (sugar, flour and all the products made from them) and the excess consumption of omega-6 vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower that are found in many processed foods.

Take a moment to visualize rubbing a stiff brush repeatedly over soft skin until it becomes quite red and nearly bleeding. you kept this up several times a day, every day for five years. If you could tolerate this painful brushing, you would have a bleeding, swollen infected area that became worse with each repeated injury. This is a good way to visualize the inflammatory process that could be going on in your body right now.

Regardless of where the inflammatory process occurs, externally or internally, it is the same. I have peered inside thousands upon thousands of arteries. A diseased artery looks as if someone took a brush and scrubbed repeatedly against its wall. Several times a day, every day, the foods we eat create small injuries compounding into more injuries, causing the body to respond continuously and appropriately with inflammation.

While we savor the tantalizing taste of a sweet roll, our bodies respond alarmingly as if a foreign invader arrived declaring war. Foods loaded with sugars and simple carbohydrates, or processed with omega-6 oils for long shelf life have been the mainstay of the American diet for six decades. These foods have been slowly poisoning everyone.  How does eating a simple sweet roll create a cascade of inflammation to make you sick?

Imagine spilling syrup on your keyboard and you have a visual of what occurs inside the cell. When we consume simple carbohydrates such as sugar, blood sugar rises rapidly. In response, your pancreas secretes insulin whose primary purpose is to drive sugar into each cell where it is stored for energy. If the cell is full and does not need glucose, it is rejected to avoid extra sugar gumming up the works.  When your full cells reject the extra glucose, blood sugar rises producing more insulin and the glucose converts to stored fat.

What does all this have to do with inflammation? Blood sugar is controlled in a very narrow range. Extra sugar molecules attach to a variety of proteins that in turn injure the blood vessel wall. This repeated injury to the blood vessel wall sets off inflammation. When you spike your blood sugar level several times a day, every day, it is exactly like taking sandpaper to the inside of your delicate blood vessels.  While you may not be able to see it, rest assured it is there. I saw it in over 5,000 surgical patients spanning 25 years who all shared one common denominator — inflammation in their arteries.

Let’s get back to the sweet roll. That innocent looking goody not only contains sugars, it is baked in one of many omega-6 oils such as soybean. Chips and fries are soaked in soybean oil; processed foods are manufactured with omega-6 oils for longer shelf life. While omega-6′s are essential -they are part of every cell membrane controlling what goes in and out of the cell — they must be in the correct balance with omega-3′s.  If the balance shifts by consuming excessive omega-6, the cell membrane produces chemicals called cytokines that directly cause inflammation.

Today’s mainstream American diet has produced an extreme imbalance of these two fats. The ratio of imbalance ranges from 15:1 to as high as 30:1 in favor of omega-6. That’s a tremendous amount of cytokines causing inflammation. In today’s food environment, a 3:1 ratio would be optimal and healthy.

To make matters worse, the excess weight you are carrying from eating these foods creates overloaded fat cells that pour out large quantities of pro-inflammatory chemicals that add to the injury caused by having high blood sugar. The process that began with a sweet roll turns into a vicious cycle over time that creates heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and finally, Alzheimer’s disease, as the inflammatory process continues unabated.

There is no escaping the fact that the more we consume prepared and processed foods, the more we trip the inflammation switch little by little each day. The human body cannot process, nor was it designed to consume, foods packed with sugars and soaked in omega-6 oils.

There is but one answer to quieting inflammation, and that is returning to foods closer to their natural state. To build muscle, eat more protein. Choose carbohydrates that are very complex such as colorful fruits and vegetables. Cut down on or eliminate inflammation- causing omega-6 fats like corn and soybean oil and the processed foods that are made from them.

One tablespoon of corn oil contains 7,280 mg of omega-6; soybean contains 6,940 mg. Instead, use olive oil or butter from grass-fed beef.  Animal fats contain less than 20% omega-6 and are much less likely to cause inflammation than the supposedly healthy oils labelled polyunsaturated. Forget the “science” that has been drummed into your head for decades. The science that saturated fat alone causes heart disease is non-existent. The science that saturated fat raises blood cholesterol is also very weak. Since we now know that cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease, the concern about saturated fat is even more absurd today.

The cholesterol theory led to the no-fat, low-fat recommendations that in turn created the very foods now causing an epidemic of inflammation. Mainstream medicine made a terrible mistake when it advised people to avoid saturated fat in favor of foods high in omega-6 fats. We now have an epidemic of arterial inflammation leading to heart disease and other silent killers.

What you can do is choose whole foods your grandmother served and not those your mom turned to as grocery store aisles filled with manufactured foods. By eliminating inflammatory foods and adding essential nutrients from fresh unprocessed food, you will reverse years of damage in your arteries and throughout your body from consuming the typical American diet.

March, March, March…

I marched today.  I didn’t march in Washington D.C.  I marched in my city.  I joined thousands of others who marched together for one cause and one cause only:  to end the killing of unborn babies.  Now don’t start throwing rocks at your computer screen — they won’t hit me.  And please don’t scream at me that my not having a vagina negates any right I may have to march.  I don’t have a vagina, but I have 3 babies that collectively have 6 babies.  And I have the right to have an opinion, especially in light of the fact that my federal government has for years allocated funds — some of my tax dollars — for the purpose of funding abortions.  And I summarily reject that.  Planned Parenthood who is at the heart of this controversy has couched its services as absolute necessary assistance in womens health in a multitude of areas.  But today Planned Parenthood’s actual services were revealed:  330,000 abortions per year, absolutely NO mammograms provided at any Planned Parenthood center as well as NO prenatal care.  And it was released that two of their centers perform NOTHING but abortions 40 hours per week.

There are several things that have rocked me in this world, but none more than the ironies that surround Pro Life and Pro Choice causes — ironies like the fact that Pro Choicers seem to confine choice to just one thing:  abortion.  Pro Lifers never consider abortion as a choice.  I’ve never heard of a Pro Choicer considering raising that child as a choice.  There may be some out there, but I didn’t hear them speak at the January 21st rally on the Mall in D.C.  And I didn’t hear any Pro Life speeches either even though the massive rally was promoted as a “Womens Rights Rally.”  Pro Life women were not invited or welcome.

But as I marched across the bridge today between Bossier City and Shreveport, Louisiana, all I could think about was that “other” irony:  the irony that the one who has the only voice that matters in this conversation was not in D.C. to speak nor marching with me in Louisiana.  That one is that baby.  That baby’s only crime:  conception, the first thing that ever happened to it which in too many cases becomes the only thing it ever participates in before it is slaughtered.  And it had no say so in either its conception or its termination.

But you know what the ultimate irony is?  This nation since its founding has championed itself for being the best, often the smartest, the most caring and accepting, the most generous and giving, the healthiest and  always the fairest of countries on Earth.  But as good as we are, as smart as we are, as caring and accepting, generous and giving, healthy and fair as we are, we continue to again and again allow, support, and commit abortions.

What’s the irony?  Think about it for a moment:  when does life begin?  Do you really know?  Does anyone really know?  I think the answer to those questions is simple:  no one knows for sure.  Just like Al Gore does not know for certain global warming is real and we are uncertain still (even with all of NASA’s knowledge of the Universe) if there is or is not life anywhere except on Earth, we do not know when life actually begins.  Is it at conception?  Is it at 2 months, 7 months, not until birth?   No one knows.

Still don’t know the irony I’m talking about?  It’s simple: how stupid we are to roll the dice on the one thing that is the only thing that must be for humanity to continue:  LIFE.  Let me make it simple:  what if life begins at conception?  What if it begins at the 2 month mark in its mom’s belly?  Maybe at 7 months?  What if at birth babies have actually been alive for 9 months?  Have you ever thought about that?  Oh, I’m certain Pro Life supporters have.  But I doubt many Pro Choice proponents have considered that — at least not seriously.  Why?  Because if they had, they would NEVER COME DOWN ON THE SIDE OF TAKING THE CHANCE ABORTING A BABY WOULD BE KILLING A HUMAN BEING.  That would simply be inhumane.

So I marched today.  And while I marched I remembered the difficulties we faced when we got pregnant the first time.  That was in the 70’s.  Abortion was “the” thing.  But we opted to have our child, who now has 4 of our grandchildren.  Having our second child meant the same decision.  Circumstances were different, but we knew having another child meant another set of responsibilities that would not be there if we just made them go away.  We chose to have that baby….and our son several years later.  And we have twin grand daughters because of those choices.

The next time you or someone you love is struggling with “the” decision, get them to sit down and quietly talk through “the” decision with you.  See if you can get them to consider….just at least consider….that aborting that baby could possibly be killing that baby.  Sure, no one knows for sure.  But shouldn’t all of us that are citizens of the greatest nation on Earth champion the one thing that will perpetuate life on Earth for generations to come?  Without having babies who grow up to carry our name and our heritages forward, there will be no tomorrow.  How will each mother who has made the choice to abort that baby react if/when someday they find out for sure: abortion really IS murder?

Abortion is an option.  We need to keep it as an option that is opted for less and less and less and less……….

From December to January: a prophetic message already coming true

December 22nd I posted this on my Facebook page.  There is so much American historical irony already happening in the Trump presidency, few can argue there are heavenly ramifications of each.  Christians throughout the nation have felt something  historical was going to happen AFTER this historical election, but have been waiting on tiptoe to see what and when it will happen.  Well, it’s already started.  Remember this?

“U.S. Government is steadily changing. The recent presidential election should be a wake-up call for all those for whom our government has always been that safe, solid, protector that is ever vigilant in watching out for us, making sure the boogie man doesn’t get us while we sleep. Our government has become the boogie man in many ways and if it once did, it no longer watches out for us. It uses all that energy and resources once dedicated solely to our health and well being to make certain IT gets everything IT needs to continue its spiraling growth while maintaining power and control it has quietly stripped from the arms of Americans through the years.

This Administration that is about to hand over the keys to government is no different. In the past Presidential Administrations when leaving office have quietly stepped aside in deference to their replacements. It is apparent Mr. Obama is kicking that old principle out the door. He apparently has no plans to follow that course of action. In fact, indications are he plans to simply move from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to his Administration’s new address which is also in Washington D.C. He is moving into a monstrous home with about 9 extra bedrooms and indications are his plans are to create a shadow government to — in his words — make certain that all the good things he put in place for America are not undone, taken away, or done away with. What do you think he means to do and how do you think he plans to accomplish those objectives?

First please know those ARE his plans. No previous president has noticeably moved to another D.C. address after leaving the White House. In deference to new Presidents, old Presidents leave town. Barrack intends to stay involved. And it is apparent that the big spenders who have backed his liberal policies, goals, and objectives are lining up to continue that process beginning in January. One environmental billionaire has publicly committed $1 million for television ads to run against any and all attempts by the Trump Administration to undo any environmental changes inked by Obama into law, spoken into regulation, or by executive order. Obama himself has warned Trump about messing with Obamacare. Surely the Obama “Shadow” Administration is a real thing hurriedly in the making. Don’t think he’s going away.

If you think I’m deluded or paranoid in this, just mark the moments you spent reading this in your mind so that when legislative moves are hurriedly initiated on the Hill to aggressively fight any and all conservative movements, you’ll remember my predictions. And it will not be just regarding Congress. Black Lives Matter will continue to grow. There will be more and more aggressive militant demonstrations in the streets of our larger cities that will soon spread to smaller towns and cities. The Supreme Court is marked for showdown after showdown as liberal activists attack any and all attempts from Conservatives to litigate unlawful actions initiated by this Administration. Presidential appointments of all kinds will initiate powerful and very public media wars. Liberal media will take these as their cue to intensify their rhetoric attacking all things conservative with a fervor so far unseen.

This behemoth called the U.S. government will soon show it has a second head, and it is one that eats a whole lot to keep itself alive and growing. Don’t be surprised when it starts devouring America but from a new address. If you’re a conservative, the boogie man does not like you.”

Enter Donald J. Trump.  The wheels of change — true change — at the “boogie man” level have already started, and started within a few hours of his inauguration.  Buckle down little children:  it’s probably going to be a bumpy ride.  We haven’t even gotten to February yet and the boogie man is getting pretty concerned!

Donna Hylton: Womens’ Advocate

I am one of many who watched with interest the Womens March in Washington, D.C. the day after the Trump inauguration.  I was very curious about the purposes for their march.  I was (and still am) puzzled at what the outcry was against.  After all, abortion is legal as are LGBT rights including marriage and adoption.  I know in other areas there are still challenges and concerns.  But I honestly have felt regarding womens rights in America things had progressed dramatically in the last few years.  I still do not understand the totality of the outcry and certainly do not understand why anyone — especially Madonna — would cry that she occasionally would like to blow up the White House.  Yes, equality of pay in the workplace is not equal for women.  Yes in many societies on Earth women are held in contempt, viewed as actual chattel property, are not allowed to drive, go to school, speak unless spoken to, and are considered to be valuable only as men in their lives determine.  But with few exceptions these are not the cases in the U.S.

It bothered me to hear the vitriol that came off the stage by some who spoke that Saturday.  Not only what was said shocked me, but I was surprised at who some of the speakers were.  Some were women who are wealthy and by all accounts very successful:  actors like Scarlett Johannsen, Ashley Judd, Madonna, Cher, and several others.  Some are longtime feminist activists like Gloria Steinem whose positions on womens rights are well known.  But one speaker floored me — Donna Hylton.

Donna Hylton is truly a womens right activist.  But she’s a lot more.  And what I am confident of is that she is NOT a good spokesperson for womens rights in America.  And I doubt very many who stood on the Washington Mall listening to her really know who she is and her past.  If they did and are OK with that, I am really concerned about what is happening among American women.

In 1985, Hylton helped kidnap, torture, rape, and murder a 62-year-old New York real estate broker named Thomas Vigliarole.  At no point in her advocacy does she mention the name of her victim. On her website, her admission to her crimes is simply:

“My name is Donna Hylton, but for twenty-seven years I was known as Inmate #86G0206.  In 1986 I was sentenced to 25 years-to-life for kidnapping and second-degree murder. I served the time at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, the only maximum-security prison for women in New York State, and was released in 2012.”

The brutal torture and murder is outlined in the Psychology Today article written in 1995 about  Donna Hylton.  “Vigliarole believed that [Hylton and her accomplices] were prostitutes who were going to have sex with him. Instead, they picked him up on March 8 in Elmhurst, Queens, at Maria [Talag]’s home, and drugged him to make him drowsy. Then they drove him to Selma [Price]’s apartment in Harlem. The apartment had already been prepared for an extended torture session: the closet door had been cut, a pot put in it for use as a toilet, the windows boarded.

Vigliarole was set-up by Louis Miranda; the two had allegedly partnered on a graft and the payout had gone south.  Miranda and his accomplices — Selma and Maria — had offered Donna Hylton and her two friends, Rita and Theresa, $9,000 each for helping kidnap and murder Vigliorole. When they were done, they locked Vigliorle’s decomposing body in a footlocker.’  Donna had planned to use the money to pay for a picture portfolio to start a modeling career.

What they did is disturbing to read:

“For the next 15 to 20 days (police aren’t sure just when Vigliarole died), the man was starved, burned, beaten, and tortured. (Even 10 years later, [New York City Detective William] Spurling could recall Rita’s chilling response when they questioned her about shoving a three-foot metal bar up Vigliarole’s rear: ‘He was a homo anyway.’ How did she know? ‘When I stuck the bar up his rectum he wiggled.’)

The three girls took turns watching the man. It was Donna who delivered a ransom note and tape to a friend of Vigliarole’s, who was able to get a partial license plate number of the car she was driving. He notified the police, who traced the plate to a rental car facility. On April 6 the suspects were arrested, and detectives spent 36 hours straight interviewing the seven men and women. ‘We had to keep going back and forth and catch them in lies,’ said Spurling. ‘It was a never-ending circle of lies.’  Spurling himself interviewed Donna: ‘I couldn’t believe this girl who was so intelligent and nice-looking could be so unemotional about what she was telling me she and her friends had done. They’d squeezed the victim’s testicles with a pair of pliers, beat him, burned him. Actually, I thought the judge’s sentence was lenient. Once a jailbird, always a jailbird.’

Hylton served a 27-year prison sentence for her heinous crimes.  Since her release, Hylton has become an outspoken advocate of prison reform, and claims the justice system mistreated her because she was a woman.

At the march in Washington, Hylton was keynote speaker and was cheered by hundreds of thousands of women as a hero.  I have two granddaughters.  I shudder to think that they would ever look at any woman who had personally participated in such activities and who obviously had such little care for human life as a role model and especially not a qualified spokesperson for womens rights.  Yes we have a long way to go to complete in America the transition for women from where they were to where they want and need to go.  But we’ve traveled far down that road already.  I don’t think we need the vitriol spewed by Hylton and others to spur us on toward that goal.

 

There’s an App for That

I’ve watched the television ad at least a dozen times with Hollywood actors (several of whom I recognize but only can name two) “demand” that Congress stop Donald Trump.  If this weren’t so sad it would actually be funny.  The man will not be President until January 20th.  Congress just convened for the 115th time.  Congress – now totally controlled by Republicans – have just begun setting an agenda for both Houses for 2017 actions.  I highly doubt that ignoring November’s election of a Republican president, House of Representatives, and Senate is anything members of this Congress plan on doing, especially if “life in Congress after this” is something each might consider desirable.

But these actors are not alone.  The customary rush by Hollywood elites – both actors and musicians – to accept the honor of performing at a newly elected President’s inauguration has fallen to the wayside because THIS president is Donald Trump.  One after another declined invitations to perform, ostensibly because of political and philosophical differences with the POTUS.   But in reality it is because they are afraid – not of Trump, but of other Hollywood elitists who have become self proclaimed and anointed spokespeople for U.S. citizens.  They determined on their own to be “the” official voices of the majority of Americans, though they are not.  They have allowed the very things they previously hated and still rail against to become part of who they are, or whom they think they are.  They used to hate the rich simply because to become rich one must be uncaring, greedy, and oblivious to others.  But they themselves are now rich!  And in doing so, they have dispelled the being rich curse they disdained in their previous lives.  But instead of allowing good fortune to guide them away from the former curse of the rich to instead be socially conscious, fair and impartial, caring U.S. citizens, they have (in part) become the very people they hated.

Not all in Hollywood and New York are of this ilk.  There are true Conservatives.  But most simply because of the liberal leftists who have taken control of the consciences of those in both the Left and Right coasts control the one thing Hollywood and Broadway’s members must have to maintain power and wealth – Money.  Producers, Directors, Studio owners and movie investors totally control who gets seen and heard in movies and music.  And most of them are diehard liberals.  And because they number among the Entertainment Elitists, they hate all things Conservative and have made doing so not just all right, but mandatory for survival.  So many conservatives maintain their political identities quietly while not actively participating in visible liberal activities.

One quick thought here:  isn’t it sad that these conservatives find it necessary to go “in the closet” just to keep their jobs just because their political ideals are different from the money-changers?  Hasn’t it been the liberal mantra to champion the rights of members of all minorities in America?  Yet every day the roar of anger from the Left against the Right gets louder and louder and Lefties get more and more vicious in their attacks … and more demanding in their cries against conservatives and conservative ideals.  After all:  the rest of Americans are all deplorable, right?

Here’s what they all (well, at least most all) are missing:  even though California, Illinois, New York, and a few other states voted for a liberal Administration, the majority of states in which the “deplorable” of us live voted for a conservative Administration.  And that’s the law.  Do you think it is pure irony that the framers of our government created the Electoral College?  Do you even know why they did?  No, it’s not ironic; it was planned, and planned for this reason:  they knew that there would be large metropolitan areas clustered around centers of trade and politics, and that the populations in these areas would grow quicker than those in Middle America.  Because of what they left in Europe they also knew that these areas would fill quickly with those who leaned toward the left politically, socially, and economically, and in a pure Republic a popular vote alone would shutout all Americans who lived in more sparsely populated states and regions and that elections would be dominated by voters and votes from those who lived in these areas.

Before you get angry with me, think about this:  this philosophy does not only protect conservative Americans.  It protects liberal Americans too.  The political philosophy meter is not a perpetually stationary thing.  Right now “fly over” America leans conservative.  But it hasn’t always and probably will tilt toward the Left in the future.  When that happens, (and it will happen) Middle America will be protected by the Electoral College just like it protected conservatives in 2016.  The tide will turn.

But just suppose the Left refuses to wait and wants to take immediate action to do away with the Electoral College.  That can be done you know.  How?  Well, there’s an app for that.  I encourage all who want to study that process with complete instructions on how to do away with the Electoral College to go to your App store and download it.  It’s named the same on all of the various software app stores and it’s free, so it will be easy and affordable for all to download.  It’s called “U.S. Constitution.”

Download it, read it, and learn just how to change it.  This Users Manual was given to us to make certain NO Americans in the minority would ever be left out of the political process.  When it or any other process of operating the U.S. political system does not work, (and “does not work” is defined by voters) any of these processes can be Constitutionally changed.

So Hollywood/Broadway/Washington and any other political elites:  stop the television ads.  Get on your pony and head to D.C. to visit your Congressmen and Women, your U.S. Senators, and get an amendment to dismantle or change the Electoral College passed in both Houses of Congress, then out to the states for approval.  If you don’t want to pay the price that’s been in place for 220 years to change that, do what conservatives did for the previous eight years even when they did not like the Presidential Administration and what it did:  follow the law.

Reap and Sow

Several took me to task when I wrote of my concern for the Obama Administration’s U.N. action in abstaining from a Security Council Resolution vote to sanction Israel for occupying certain lands.  I tied that to God’s blessings of the U.S. for its long-standing Israeli support in the U.N. and elsewhere in the past.  But the U.S. support has not always been there on certain matters.  And in those cases when former U.S. presidents have initiated actions that may have not been in Israel’s best interests, not only did the God-support go away, some bad things apparently happened.  Here are some examples:

 

  1. When Bush 41 proudly promoted and signed the Oslo Accord at the Madrid Peace Conference October 30, 1991, (which was an attempt to divide the land of Israel in exchange for “peace” with the Palestinians) the next day the famous “Perfect Storm” struck the northeast U.S. The storm defied all previous weather logic as it savaged both land and sea;
  2. Madrid Conference #1 was not successful, so Bush tried it again one year later. The 1992 Conference was August 23rd – the same day Hurricane Andrew crashed into Florida causing over $30 billion of damage destroying 180,000 homes.  Andrew was termed “the worst natural disaster to strike America;”
  3. September 13, 1993, President Bush (41 again) signed that famous “land for peace” Oslo Peace Accord. That same day Hurricane Emily slammed into the Outer Banks with 115 mph winds;
  4. President Clinton met with terrorist and Israel hater Syria’s President Hafez el-Assad in Geneva January 16, 1994. They discussed a peace agreement with Israel that included Israel giving up the Golan Heights.  The next day a 6.9 earthquake rocked California.  It was termed “the second most destructive natural disaster in U.S. history, second to Hurricane Andrew;”
  5. January 21, 1998, President Clinton met with Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. Clinton and Secretary of State Madeline Albright refused to have lunch with Netanyahu.  Later that same day the Monica Lewinsky scandal was released to the World.  Impeachment proceedings against Clinton were not far behind;
  6. Secretary of State Albright finished details of an agreement which required Israel to surrender 13% OF Judah and Samaria. Clinton met with Yasser Arafat and Netanyahu to finalize another “land for peace” deal.  September 28, 1998, Arafat addressed the U.N. and declared an independent Palestinian state by May 1999.  The same day Hurricane George hit the Gulf Coast with winds up to 175 mph.  It caused $1 billion in damage.  At the exact time Arafat left the U.S., the storm subsided;
  7. October 15, 1998, Arafat and Netanyahu met at the Wye River Plantation in Maryland. The talks were to last 5 days with Israel giving up 13% of Yesha.  Talks extended and concluded October 23.  Two days later tornadoes hit south Texas.  Floods ravaged 25% of Texas with over $1 billion in damages.  Clinton declared the region a disaster area;
  8. November 30, 1998, Arafat was back in Washington to meet with Clinton to raise money for a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. 42 other nations were represented.  They agreed to give Arafat $3 billion in aid.  Clinton promised $400 million.  The same day the Dow Jones average dropped 216 points, and the next day the European Market had its 3rd worst day in history.  Hundreds of billions of market capitalization were wiped out in the U.S. and Europe;
  9. On December 12, 1998, Clinton arrived at the Palestinian controlled section of Israel to discuss another “land for peace” deal. The same day the U.S. House of Representatives voted 4 articles of impeachment against President Clinton;
  10. May 3, 1999, Yasser Arafat announced a press conference to present a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital. The most powerful tornado storm system ever to hit the U.S. whipped through Oklahoma and Kansas that day.  Winds were clocked at 316 mph, the fastest ever recorded.  Arafat postponed his announcement;
  11. June 8, 2001, Bush 43 sent Secretary Tenet to Jerusalem to promote his “Roadmap to Peace,” the continuation of the failed Oslo Accord signed by his father. Tropical storm Allison hit Texas – Bush’s home – causing over $7 billion of damages the next 5 days;
  12. The U.S. pressured Israel to give up the Gaza Strip. Israel gave in and gave it up, evacuating all Israelis.  The exact day the last settlers were evacuated from the Gaza Strip, a tropical storm formed near the Bahamas, and just days later on August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast nearly completely destroying New Orleans.  More than 1000 people died, and is now the greatest Natural Disaster in U.S. history.

 

I believe God cares about Israel.  I believe all of His promises to bless those who bless Israel.  I believe His promises to curse those who curse Israel.  Are each of the above occurrences tied to those curses?

 

God in Genesis 8 gave the greatest laws of Nature to Man.  After the Great Flood, God promised Noah He would never flood Earth again and that He would initiate 4 Laws that would never change:  there will always be Night and Day; there will always be Summer and Winter; there will always be hot and cold; there will always be sowing and reaping.  The first 3 are self-explanatory.  The 4th needs explaining and is VERY different from the first 3:

 

“Sow and reap” is the Natural process of planting seed and harvesting crops – the way Man has fed the World for centuries.  What is planted is exactly what grows.  But this applies not only to farming, but also to the entire Human process.  We are constantly planting seeds.  We plant with our actions and our words.  And though we do not think of those having literal outcomes, they always do.  i.e. when we scream at our children, our screams result in anger, fear, and sometimes hate from our kids.  When we lie to our spouses, those lies become seed and always return to us – sometimes with lies coming back from them.  Bottom line:  when you plant apple seeds, don’t expect peaches to grow – apples are what we reap.

 

Like it or not, the above tragedies did NOT just happen:  they are part of the “Sow and reap” process God mapped out for Noah.  Some today call this “what goes around comes around.”  Whatever you call it, it happens this way EVERY time.
