Why is President Biden Purposely Flooding the Nation with Illegal Aliens?

President Joe Biden’s deputies congratulate themselves for delivering foreign migrants into Americans’ workplaces, communities, and society without approval from Congress or debate with the worried voters.

“We’re increasing and improving legal migration,” Tyler Moran, a White House official, told the Washington Post. “We have put in place many policies creating legal pathways to migrate and seek protection, and we see that as a metric of success,” she added.

“We have a three-pronged approach,” Biden’s border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), told a Senate hearing on May 13. “Address the root causes [of migration], to build legal pathways [into the U.S.], and to advocate more with the hope that Congress will pass immigration reform,” he said.

Mayorkas is opening legal pathways into Americans’ workplaces and homes by widening the side doors in immigration law, such as parole admissions and asylum claims. He is also widening the doors to legalization by easing the award of green cards to illegal or unlawful migrants.

White House spokeswoman Pili Tobar worked in a variety of advocacy migration jobs before joining Biden’s administration. On May 7, she tweeted:

The vast majority of “vetted sponsors or family members” for supposedly unaccompanied children are illegally present in the United States. Many of those sponsors paid coyotes — and the cartels — to deliver their children or job-seeking teenage boys to U.S. agents on the border. Mayorkas’ agency is now completing the contracted delivery — gratis — of the young migrants to their U.S.-based illegal migrant relatives.

Mayorkas is declining to use a court decision that would allow him to stop the coyote-delivered entry of so-called “unaccompanied” youths and children into the United States.

The DHS secretary told the Senate in testimony that he wants to provide asylum approval to youths and children who have not even left their home country: “If we can, in fact, adjudicate [asylum] claims in the countries of origin, or truly safe places, then we will spare children the perilous journey north.” He added, “These are people, yearning to be free.”

In April, Mayorkas used optional Title 8 rules to allow roughly 60,000 people across the border, including roughly 35,000 people from distant places other than Mexico or Central America.

DHS does not repatriate migrants who try to sneak across the border, helping roughly 45,000 do so in April, often on their second or third attempts. Moreover, the very lax enforcement rules at DHS leave migrants with little fear of being deported. At least 11 million people are already living illegally in the United States.

Mayorkas uses the parole side door in immigration law to bring thousands of legally deported migrants back into the United States.

The DHS secretary is also drafting regulations that would dramatically raise the number of poor economic migrants who could use crime or domestic abuse claims to get U Visas or T Visas and then win the huge prize of U.S. citizenship.

He is also stripping away bureaucratic and regulatory curbs on the Fortune 500 hiring of foreign graduates for jobs needed by American graduates. In addition, he is backing a bill that would automatically award green cards to foreign migrants if they perform 10 years of work for U.S. companies.

As administration officials try to create new migration pipelines without approval by Congress or debate with the public, they are dismissing media coverage — and public criticism — of the migration wave as a distraction. Roughly 178,000 migrants were recorded arriving at the border, marking a 20-year record.

Why is President Biden Purposely Flooding the Nation with Illegal Aliens?

According to the Washington Post:

Rather than attempting to drive down migration through more stringent enforcement, Biden officials in recent weeks have been seeking to change the perception that high border numbers equate to a crisis, a failure, or even something manifestly negative.

“Apprehensions don’t tell the full story, and getting to zero is not a measure of success,” Tyler Moran, one of Biden’s top immigration policy advisers, said in an interview. She and other Biden officials have urged patience with their policies and plans to address the “root causes” driving Central American emigration, while blaming the Trump administration for handing them an immigration system with a myopic focus on keeping border numbers low.

“We’re moving toward a fair, orderly and humane system,” Moran added. “We’re increasing and improving legal migration, and deterring irregular migration. We have put in place a number of policies creating legal pathways to migrate and seek protection, and we see that as a metric of success.”

The “full story,” as described by Moran, does not include the economic damage – such as housing prices — done to native-born and immigrant Americans, the expanding poverty and regional gaps in U.S. society, or the damage done to migrants’ home countries by the left-wing policy of extracting migrants for use in the U.S. economy.

Republican legislators are pushing back, but usually with ineffective rhetoric about socialism, border chaos, or illegal migrants.

The rhetoric looks good on some conservative websites, and it avoids a clash with pro-migration business donors, who oppose any GOP talk about immigration, jobs, wages, and careers. For example, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) responded to Mayorkas’ May 13 hearing comments by pointing to the crush of migrants at the border:

What I find astonishing … is that we have the secretary responsible for securing our border and our immigration system, who doesn’t recognize these charts as being a problem … and is not saying “We’ve got to make some changes immediately.” I find that I find that extraordinary and extremely damning.

But some GOP politicians are cutting the heart of the issue.

“The open borders policy of Democrats is driving down the wages of millions of Americans,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Wednesday during a May 12 hearing for a Democrat amnesty bill. He continued:

The bill that we’re discussing in this hearing today is, I believe, a very dangerous bill. It is a radical bill that would grant amnesty to millions of people here illegally, with a broad swath that is wrong, immoral, and profoundly unfair.

It is unfair to millions of Americans — [to] low-income Americans, Americans who may be out of work, Americans who may be in difficult jobs.

Why is President Biden Purposely Flooding the Nation with Illegal Aliens?

The open borders policy of Democrats is driving down wages of millions of Americans [including] the African American community. This bill is terrible for the African American community. It lowers wages in the African American community. The Hispanic community: This bill is terrible for the Hispanic community. For legal immigrants: … this bill drives down wages for millions of legal immigrants.

Pro-American activists are sharpening their responses: “It is extraction immigration,” said Rob Law, the director of regulatory affairs and policy at the Center for Immigration Studies. He added:

At the end of the day, calling everybody north to the United States leaves these other countries with a desolated population and completely destroyed economy. It is cruelty on steroids. What they’re doing is callous. It is cruel and it’s immoral.

For many years, a wide variety of pollsters have shown deep and broad opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates. This opposition is multiracial, cross-sex, non-racist, class-based, bipartisan, rational, persistent, and recognizes the solidarity Americans owe to each other.

The voter opposition to elite-backed economic migration coexists with support for legal immigrants and some sympathy for illegal migrants. But only a minority of Americans — mostly leftists — embrace the many skewed polls and articles pushing the 1950’s corporate “Nation of Immigrants” claim.

The deep public opposition to labor migration is built on the widespread recognition that legal and illegal migration moves money away from most Americans’ pocketbooks and families. Migration moves money from employees to employers, from families to investors, from young to old, from children to their parents, from homebuyers to investors, from technology to stoop labor, from red states to blue states, and from the central states to the coastal states such as New York.

Joe Biden’s Open Border Policies Suborn Criminality: “It’s OK: Come on In!”

We hear scan reports from today’s media regarding crimes committed by illegals. Why is that? It feeds into the leftist agenda of Open Borders.

It is unquestionable that over the last year, crime in the U.S. has increased dramatically. It is also factual to say that illegal aliens have been and are committing many of those crimes. Of course, the FBI/DOJ do not release reports which break down the demographics by the citizenship of the perpetrators of serious crimes. Why is that? Those numbers don’t prop up the leftist plan to pack the nation with a “new” class of Americans and a plan that creates permanent Democrat Party voters.

Let’s take a peek at just one small segment of illegal alien criminality with a snapshot of the state of Texas.

According to an analysis conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, foreign aliens committed 611,234 unique crimes in Texas from 2008 to 2014, including thousands of homicides and sexual assaults.

The report describes an alien crime wave of staggering proportions exacerbated by federal officials unwilling to enforce immigration laws.

The Texas DPS report says well over 100,000 individual criminal aliens have been booked into Texas jails:

From October 2008 to April 2014, Texas identified a total 177,588 unique criminal alien defendants booked into Texas county jails. These individuals have been identified through the Secure Communities initiative, in which Texas has participated since October 2008.

There are almost certainly more criminal aliens who haven’t been identified as aliens.  The 177,588 criminal aliens identified by Texas through the Secure Communities initiative only can tag criminal aliens who had already been fingerprinted.  Arrests of illegal aliens who have not been fingerprinted before arrest are not included in these arrests numbers derived from the Secure Communities initiative.

That means that the already stratospheric aggregate crime totals would be even higher if crimes by many illegal aliens who are not in the fingerprint database were included.

The Secure Communities initiative is an information-sharing program between the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice. Presumably, both departments would have data on the number of fingerprint searches conducted that revealed a criminal act involved an alien.

Texas has been ground zero in illegal alien crossings into the United States. The Texas DPS report shows that in the Rio Grande Valley, 154,453 illegal aliens were apprehended in 2013.

Other Texas sectors saw approximately 86,000 illegal aliens apprehended.  All other sectors combined on the southern border only saw approximately 170,000 illegal alien apprehensions in the same time period.  The Obama/Biden administration released a sizable portion of the illegal aliens captured.

The criminal aliens identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety have been responsible for the most heinous types of crimes — and in astonishing numbers. From the Texas DPS report:

A review of these 177,588 defendants shows that they are responsible for at least 611,234 individual criminal charges over their criminal careers, including 2,993 homicides and 7,695 sexual assaults.

Arizona Illegal Alien Crimes Double The Number by Legals

The crime rate among illegal immigrants in Arizona is twice that of other residents, then-U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in 2018, citing a report based on conviction data.

From the Crime Prevention Research Center, the report used a previously untapped set of data from Arizona that detailed criminal convictions and found that illegal immigrants between 15 and 35 are less than 3 percent of the state’s population, but nearly 8 percent of its prison population. And the crimes they were convicted of were, on the whole, more serious.

Among nearly 4,000 first- and second-degree murder convictions, undocumented immigrants accounted for nearly 13 percent — significantly higher than their percentage of the population. Legal immigrants, by contrast, were less than 1 percent of convicts. Native-born made up the rest.

Undocumented immigrants also accounted for five times the rate of convictions for money laundering and kidnapping and were three times more likely to be convicted of drive-by shootings.

In the report, the crime rates of the undocumented who were ages 18 to 35 were significant, given the ongoing debate over legalizing illegal immigrant “Dreamers.” He said the Arizona data showed that the population had crime rates 250 percent higher than their share of the population would have predicted.

“They’re more likely to be convicted of sexual assault, robbery, and driving under the influence. They’re more than twice as likely to be convicted of murder.”

Summary

New Mexico and California certainly have massive numbers of crimes committed by illegals. Still, it should come as no surprise that neither has published similar data as have Texas and Arizona documenting those numbers.

Looking at the federal-only criminal arrests of illegals, more than 90% of illegal immigrants arrested by federal agents in the United States in 2019 had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, including 56,000 assaults and thousands of sex crimes, robberies, homicides, and kidnappings. Many had “extensive criminal histories with multiple convictions,” according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) year-end report. The 123,128 illegal aliens arrested by the agency’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in 2019 had 489,063 criminal convictions and pending charges, representing an average of four crimes per alien, highlighting the “recidivist nature” of the arrested aliens, the agency writes, noting that sanctuary cities nationwide greatly impeded its public safety efforts.

How does ANY elected official at the state or federal level ignore their oaths of office in allowing this massive lawlessness to be perpetrated on the citizens of the U.S.?

With this President, there’s NO end in sight. It is not surprising to hear the stories coming from some Texans of a serious move to “take matters into their own hands” and stop illegal aliens from entering their state.

President Biden has filled his administration with unelected appointees who are outwardly anti-border sycophants who have actually pledged to flood the nation with illegals.

The cost of this to the citizens of the U.S. is incalculable. Including the expense of law enforcement at local, state, and federal levels, the judiciary, medical, education,  and housing, estimates are as high as $1 trillion a year! Of course, that cost pales when considering the cost of the lives lost at the hands of these criminals.

Why is President Biden Purposely Flooding the Nation with Illegal Aliens?

What is this all about? Ignore the false cries of care and affection for those less fortunate than native Americans. It’s been proven over and over that it is nothing more than a talking point. If the options for the correct answer are examined, one can quickly conclude only one possible purpose: to salvage the dying Democrat Party membership with illegals who will give Democrats permanent legislative power.

I know that “being here” does not automatically “voting here.” Don’t raise that objection! We all have witnessed firsthand that Democrat Party leadership does NOT need legal status for voters. Ballot harvesting takes care of that problem! Anyway, they make no bones about their intentions: give EVERY illegal a path to full citizenship. THAT will give them a voting base that will permanently be committed to the party that gave them EVERYTHING.

COVID-19 Vaccinations Devastating Europeans: Facts and Numbers

Monday morning on “TNN Live,”  we reported on a rash of adverse reactions in Europe to people who have taken vaccination shots using Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZenca, and Johnson & Johnson shots. Hundreds of thousands of adverse reactions have been reported along with far more deaths from such reactions reported in the U.S. by the CDC. Here’s the story with complete details and numbers:

EudraVigilance, a European database of suspicious drug reaction cases, has reported 8,430 deaths and 354,177 injuries following injections of four experimental Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus (COVID-19) shots.

In a statement about their database, EudraVigilance said that their report covers data collected through April 24, 2021, for four experimental vaccines currently in use in Europe from Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson:

4,524  of the 8,430 deaths were reported following Pfizer vaccine injections, and 184,833 of the 354,177 injuries following AstraZeneca vaccine injections, according to EudraVigilance, which monitors reports of accidents and deaths related to the experimental CCP Virus vaccines.

According to a Norwegian Institute of Public Health statement, the AstraZeneca COVID-19 “vaccine” is riskier than the virus itself, particularly for young people.

Saturday Bullet Points: May 15, 2021

It looked like early this past week that the Biden Administration is doomed. Everything that could go wrong seemed to be going wrong: Southern Border debacle; Israelis and Palestinians blowing each other up; COVID-19 controversies growing unsustainable; inflation roaring while taking over the nation; Biden big bills at a standstill in Congress; a record number of job openings because of gov’t paying too much for people NOT to work; and members of Biden Administration seemingly caught up in several financial scandals.

What else could go wrong?

Just in case you missed any of the week’s big stories on the above-mention items are any others, we’ve captured them for you. Take a look at our “Bullet Points.” Read each bullet point. If you want more detail on any story, click on the link and go to a full story. Of course, you can go to the next bullet point. Either way, you’ll know you’re informed!

Bullet Points

  • Despite the cries from the Left that have all but silenced everyone who espoused the “fake” news that the November 3rd election provided Biden the presidency by cheating, there appears to be still a large number of legitimate state authorities who question those results. Maricopa County in Arizona is the epicenter of the latest, greatest forensic examination of their election ballots. It comes as NO surprise to many that the audit that was court-ordered is struggling to go forward. Why? Much of the election documentation that was supposedly “sequestered and preserved” has turned up missing! For complete details, click on this link:
  • We were certain Trump would get the blame for everything that goes wrong (or doesn’t work out) in the Biden Administration. That’s how they handled it in all of the Obama/Biden issues: they blamed George W. Bush. Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security found a way to blame President Trump for the massive current minor children immigration debacle. Sec. Mayorkas first refuses to admit we even have a crisis at the southern border, then he blames Trump for it all! For complete details, click on this link:
  • The Left weaponizes everything! According to one White House insider, their latest play is to get people to forget about his controversial and hypocritical past while shifting attention to his current positives. And the White House staff is all-in on this type of deception. After all, since he’s the President, he can pretty much say what he wants with impunity. But now, one insider has decided to expose the “planned” memory loss regarding Biden’s speckled past. For complete details, click on this link:
  • There are serious concerns shared by millions of Americans regarding a “pending” requirement for everyone who wishes to participate in things like air, cruise ship, and even railroad transit “mandatory” COVID-19 vaccinations with proof by providing a “vaccine passport.” Some local and state governments have pushed back against such a requirement IF one ever comes from Washington. Chief among those state officials doing so is Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida. For complete details, click on this link:
  • House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), after being appointed to that position on Friday, said the Republican conference is united to take back the House during the midterms and took aim during her first press conference as the number three in leadership at the “far-left radical socialist policies” hurting Americans. For complete details, click on this link:
  • No one can reasonably assert that this past week wasn’t a real “doozy” for President Biden. A bunch of things came to a head this week to the chagrin of the President. Does all of these “things” showing at the same time portend the end of Biden’s honeymoon with Americans? For complete details, click on this link:
  • Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) not only was dumped from her Republican House Chairmanship this week, but she also was caught in her very own “Big Lie.” Appearing on FOX News with Bret Baier, Cheney, when asked by Baier, denied that she played any role in spreading that fake bit of intelligence regarding those Russian bounties put on Americans serving in the military in the Middle East. It wasn’t a good week for Lynn either! For complete details, click on this link:
  • This past week had a rough start, especially with the Colonial Pipeline lockdown at the hands of Russian hackers. Fuel was (and still is) in short supply up and down the Eastern Seaboard. What this all brought to light (besides the fact that Americans back East use a LOT of gasoline) is that Democrats, in their perpetual fight against fossil fuel, have given NO consideration of cybersecurity in our critical energy infrastructure. Even though Colonial is a private company, isn’t cybersecurity supposed to be a critical concern to our government? For complete details, click on this link:
  •  We thought that we saved the nation from those pesky “earmarks” used to pack stupid spending in otherwise critical pieces of legislation. Guess what? “They’re Back…..!”3,309 new earmarks proposed by 324 embers of Congress cost taxpayers $10 billion! For complete details, click on this link:

Palestinians Rocketing Israel Because Jews stole Palestinian land: True?

We know for certain Israel has, for four days now, sustained daily attacks through the air from Gaza. Palestinians have lobbed more than 1,000 rockets into Israel, resulting in massive damages and deaths. Israel has indeed responded. What country would not! But if one listens to the noise from the United States Leftists, it will be certain that Israel started this conflict. Further, it’s all because of Israel’s inhumane, xenophobic, and racist policies initiated decades ago when Israel stole from the Palestinians the geography known as Israel today. Examples?

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN):Israeli airstrikes killing civilians in Gaza is an act of terrorism,” Omar tweeted in response to the news. “Palestinians deserve protection. Unlike Israel, missile defense programs, such as Iron Dome, don’t exist to protect Palestinian civilians. It’s unconscionable to not condemn these attacks on the week of Eid,” she added, referencing the Muslim holy week.

Omar continued: “Many will tell you Israel has a right to defend itself, to safety and security, but are silent on whether Palestinians have those rights too,” Omar said in a later tweet. Until we can defend the rights of Palestinians just as we do Israelis, we have no leg to stand on when it comes to justice or peace.”

We could fill up your day with quotes from World leaders from almost every country, some coming down on the side of the Palestinians, some on the side of Israel. However, it’s important to look at the facts.

The facts of this incident are simple: Palestinian rebels have lobbed more than 1300 rockets into Israel, first from Gaza, then reported on Thursday to be fired from southern Lebanon. Israel indeed retaliated for those rockets being fired into their country that killed Israelis and destroyed property. But what country does not think their doing so was justified?

These problems are NOT about this single incident. The problems within this centuries-old feud stem from the Palestinian claims against Israel that purport that Israel STOLE the land on which their country rests from the Palestinians.

Today, I’m certain we will not get to the bottom of all this. What we WILL do is give you historical and documented evidence of how this feud began, on what it is based, and let you decide the answers for yourself. In fact, we ask some of the questions AND give you the answers!

Please note that we have provided multiple hyperlinks to stories about this ongoing conflict between the two at the end of this. Additionally, numbered footnotes are added to access as desired. We encourage you to take the time to peruse this, if, for no other reason, to be able to draw a factual opinion to share as you feel it is important.

That’s a novel idea: TruthNewsNetwork gives facts so YOU can find the truth!

Is it true that Israel stole Palestinian land?
Accusation: Israel stole Palestinian land to build a Jewish State

[the Muslim Brotherhood will] continue to view the Jews and Zionists as their first and foremost enemies … Jihad means making sacrifices in order to restore what has been stolen [Palestine]. Mohamed Badie, Supreme Leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, January 2010

The “Facts”

From the beginning of World War I, Arabs began claiming that Jews had stolen Arab land and displaced its inhabitants. In reality, 80% of the land in the region was considered “state land,” owned by the Ottoman Empire (subsequently the British). The next largest landholders were absentee landlords like the Lebanese Sursuck family, who owned most of the Jezreel Valley. In contrast, 80 % of Palestinian Arabs were impoverished peasants, semi-nomads, and Bedouins — not wealthy landowners.1

The region was severely underpopulated, which meant the Jews could avoid buying land in areas where Arabs might be displaced, which they did. They sought land that was largely uncultivated, swampy, sandy, and most importantly, without tenants, like much of the Jezreel Valley. In 1920, David Ben-Gurion expressed his concern about the Arab fellaheen (peasants), whom he viewed as “the most important asset of the native population” he said, “under no circumstances must we touch land belonging to fellahs or worked by them.” He advocated helping liberate them from their oppressors. “Only if a fellah leaves his place of settlement should we offer to buy his land, at an appropriate price.” 2

The Jews overpaid for the land they purchased

When British MP John Hope Simpson arrived in Palestine in May 1930 to report on Arab-Jewish violence and discovered the Jews were purchasing land at exorbitant rates: “They [Jews] paid high prices for the land, and in addition, they paid to certain of the occupants of those lands a considerable amount of money which they were not legally bound to pay.” 3

In 1937, the British Government published the “Peel Commission,” which found Arab complaints about Jewish land acquisition were baseless. It pointed out that “much of the land now carrying orange groves was dunes or swamp and uncultivated when purchased. There was, at the time of the earlier sales, little evidence that the owners possessed either the resources or training needed to develop the land.” Moreover, the Commission found the shortage was “due less to the amount of land acquired by Jews than to the increase in the Arab population.” The report concluded that the presence of Jews in Palestine, along with the work of the British Administration, had resulted in higher wages, an improved standard of living, and ample employment opportunities. 4

It is made quite clear to all, both by the map drawn up by the “Simpson Commission” and by another compiled by the “Peel Commission,” that the Arabs are as prodigal in selling their land as they are in useless wailing and weeping.

Transjordan’s King Abdullah, My Memoirs Completed, p88-89

Violence escalated, and Arabs continued to sell land to Jews at outrageous prices, usually for tiny tracts of arid land. “In 1944, Jews paid between $1,000 and $1,100 per acre in Palestine, mostly for arid or semi-arid land; in the same year, rich black soil in Iowa was selling for about $110 per acre.” 5

Land ownership from 1945-1947

In 1945, the British commissioned a land ownership survey in Mandatory Palestine for the “Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry on Palestine.” This survey was the research that the United Nations relied upon when suggesting how the region could be partitioned. The UN’s suggested the Jewish state would be in the area with heavy Jewish or state ownership (such as the barren Negev Desert). At the same time, the proposed Arab state was in the regions with heavy Arab ownership. The claim that Jews stole Palestinian land is factually incorrect.6

By 1947, Jewish holdings in Palestine amounted to about 463,000 acres. Approximately 45,000 of these acres were acquired from the Mandatory Government; 30,000 were bought from various churches, and 387,500 were purchased from Arabs. Analysis of land purchases from 1880 to 1948 shows that 73 percent of Jewish plots were purchased from large landowners, not poor fellahin. 7 Those who sold land included the mayors of Gaza, Jerusalem, and Jaffa. As’ad el–Shuqeiri, a Muslim religious scholar and father of PLO chairman Ahmed Shuqeiri, took Jewish money for his land. Even King Abdullah leased land to the Jews. In fact, many leaders of the Arab nationalist movement, including members of the Muslim Supreme Council, sold land to Jews. 8

Fact or fiction: Israel stole Palestinian land in the 1948 war?

As soon as Israel declared independence, eight Arab nations invaded. With the battle cry of the Grand Mufti ringing in their ears, “I declare a holy war, my Muslim brothers! Murder the Jews! Murder them all,”9 The Arab armies, with the help of Palestinian militias, attempted their genocide against the Jews.

By some miracle, the Jews repelled the invaders and, in defeating the Arab armies, and captured more land than that allotted in the UN partition. Much of this land had sizable Jewish populations and more defensible borders. Israel decided to retain this land to assure the safety of its citizens. It is this new border that most people refer to when they speak of the “Pre-67 Lines” (or the “49 Armistice Lines”).

The Arabs also captured land. The Egyptians conquered Gaza, while the Jordanians usurped the West Bank. Unlike Israel, this was not for the safety of their citizens but to increase their own territory. According to Benny Morris, the “Arab war plan changed into a multinational land grab focusing on the Arab areas of the country by the end of the war. The evolving Arab ‘plans’ failed to assign any of these whatsoever to the Palestinians or to consider their political aspirations.”10

Fact or fiction: Israel stole Palestinian Land after 1948?

While Arab leaders instructed to “strike the enemy’s settlements, turn them into dust, pave the Arab roads with the skulls of Jews,”11 their genocidal intentions were repeatedly crushed, often leaving Israel with even greater territory. Despite these gains, Israel had no intention of keeping the land — it always intended to return the land in exchange for peace.

In 1974, Israel returned territories to Syria that it had captured in 1967 and 1973. Again in 1979, they returned the entire Sinai Peninsula, a mass of land rich in oil, with Jewish settlements and three times the size of pre-67 Israel.

In September 1983, Israel withdrew from large areas of Lebanon to positions south of the Awali River. In 1985, it completed its withdrawal from Lebanon, except for a narrow security zone just north of the Israeli border. That too was abandoned, unilaterally, in 2000.

After signing peace agreements with the Palestinians and a treaty with Jordan, Israel agreed to withdraw from most of the territory in the West Bank captured from Jordan in 1967. A small area was returned to Jordan, and more than 40% was ceded to the Palestinian Authority.

Finally, in 2005, all Israeli troops and civilians were evacuated from the Gaza Strip, and the territory was turned over to the control of the Palestinian Authority. In addition, four communities in the West Bank covering an area larger than the entire Gaza Strip were also evacuated as part of the disengagement plan. As a result, Israel has now withdrawn from approximately 94% of the territory it captured in 1967.

Israel has captured territory from those that wage war against the tiny state, but each time it returns the land in a heartbeat in exchange for peace.

Fact or fiction: Israel stole Palestinian land to build settlements?

From ancient times, Jews have lived in the West Bank. The only time they did not was in recent decades when Jordan ethnically cleansed Jews from the region between 1948 to 1967. When Israel captured the territory from the Jordanians following Jordan’s attack on Israel in the combined Arab attack of 67, Israel allowed Jews to move back to some select locations.

Numerous experts in international law believe that these settlements are not illegal. Stephen Schwebel, formerly President of the “International Court of Justice,” notes that a country acting in self-defense may seize and occupy territory when necessary to protect itself. Schwebel also observes that a state may require, as a condition for its withdrawal, security measures designed to ensure its citizens are not menaced again from that territory. 12 In the seventies, Israel made thousands of its citizens homeless when it returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt. It did so on Egypt’s condition to make peace with the Jewish State — just as Schwebel described.

When Israel constructs its settlements, it does not requisition private land for its establishment. Housing construction is only permitted on private land where the rights of others have not been violated. The vast majority of settlements have been built in uninhabited areas, and even the handful established in or near Arab towns did not displace or steal land. In instances that settlements had been built on stolen land, the previous Arab owners took their case to the Supreme Israeli Court, which ruled the settlements needed to be dismantled.

Summary
  • The claim that Jews stole Palestinian land is a lie.
  • The UN proposal awarded Israel the land where Jewish ownership was high.
  • Jews massively overpaid for the land they acquired.
  • Israel has captured land in defensive battles but has always exchanged it for peace.

Biden’s Getting EVERYTHING Wrong

Yesterday — Wednesday — was one heck of a hump day! New government figures showed that the Biden administration is getting it wrong on the border, getting it wrong on the economy and job creation, and getting it wrong on inflation. And, Mr. President, this is NOT the “usual seasonal migration.”

We knew that this month’s immigration numbers would be high and represent a flashing red light. Last week we thought that the border crisis must have been solved. It certainly wasn’t and still isn’t solved: the media just stopped discussing it. In fact, the federal government’s official statistics undermine Biden’s argument that what Americans saw on the border was just a routine seasonal pattern.

I’m sorry, Mr. President, but that is a load of bull. It is not a regular seasonal pattern to break a two-decade-old record two months in a row. In April, U.S. Customs and Border Protection caught 178,622 individuals attempting to cross the U.S./Mexico border, one month after they had caught an eye-popping 173,348 individuals.

Over at the Center for Immigration Studies, Andrew Arthur wondered why it took until May 11 to release the numbers for April. No doubt it takes time to check and collate all of the data, and as of now, there’s no indication of any deliberate delay from Customs and Border Patrol (CBP). But any time that new information that makes the administration look bad takes a while to get released, a bunch of folks will wonder if someone in the chain of command was dragging his or fiddling with the numbers!.

On April 30, when asked about March’s numbers, Biden insisted in an interview with NBC News, “Look, it’s way down now. We’ve now gotten control.” But the April numbers are not way down; they’re up a bit over the previous month’s record. At the time of that interview, did Biden genuinely believe that CBP encounters at the border had dramatically declined? No way! Biden’s usual denial of making a mistake and his habitual fuzziness with the facts make it very tough to tell when he’s lying, when he’s misinformed, and when he’s having any memory issues. It’s probably all of the above!

Biden told NBC News that he “inherited a Godawful mess” from Trump at the border. But in January, CBP had only 78,443 encounters at the southern border. The first big jump came in February when it rose to 101,120, and then it continued rising into March. What happened in late January?

These are cold, hard numbers that prove that Biden’s assessment of the situation in late March was completely wrong. Whether or not Biden wanted to tell Central America that the border is open, his first moves on immigration — halting construction of border fencing, new guidelines to ICE agents to sharply curb arrests and deportations, and an attempted moratorium, proposing a path to citizenship — all sent a signal to migrants and human traffickers that the door was wide open and everyone was welcome.

Many migrants said they had spent their life savings and gone into debt to pay coyotes — human smugglers — who had falsely promised them that the border was open after President Biden’s election.

There is only one way people in the poorest and most isolated communities in Central America will disbelieve the false promises of human smugglers and coyotes and understand that the border is not open. It requires the U.S. president to send a clear signal, loudly, frequently, and publicly, that U.S. immigration laws are still enforced and that those caught crossing the border illegally will be criminally charged and quickly deported.

Probably deep down, Biden and many other Democrats think those actions are inherently mean and unjust. This is why half the Democratic presidential field supported a repeal of the criminal statute for entering the country without permission. Additionally, almost all Democrats believe a government-run healthcare plan should cover illegal immigrants, and they’re iffy at best on the use of E-Verify.

Usually, a Record Number of Job Openings Would Be Good News

Tuesday of this week, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the number of job openings across the country had reached 8.1 million, the highest that the agency had ever recorded.

But the Labor Department numbers show we’re already doing pretty well at creating jobs, or at least creating job openings. An economy in which there are a record number of job openings is not one that is sluggish or struggling or that desperately needs another round of stimulus spending. What it needs are the currently nonworking job applicants to walk through the door and go to work! Right now, in Massachusetts, the maximum weekly unemployment benefit amount is $855 per week. In a 40-hour workweek, that comes out to $21.37 per hour.

What About all these Unfilled Jobs?

The updated unfilled jobs numbers released Tuesday morning were bad. The updated immigration numbers released Tuesday evening were bad. Guess how the updated inflation numbers released Wednesday morning looked? Horrendous!

  • The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased by 0.8 percent in April on a seasonally adjusted basis after rising 0.6 percent in March. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 4.2 percent before seasonal adjustment. This is the largest 12-month increase since a 4.9-percent increase for the period ending September 2008.
  • The index for used cars and trucks rose 10.0 percent in April. This was the largest 1-month increase since the series began in 1953, and it accounted for over a third of the seasonally adjusted all items increase. The food index increased in April, rising 0.4 percent as the indexes for food at home and food away from home both increased. The energy index decreased slightly, as a decline in the index for gasoline in April more than offset increases in the indexes for electricity and natural gas.
  • The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.9 percent in April, its largest monthly increase since April 1982. Nearly all major component indexes increased in April. Along with the index for used cars and trucks, the indexes for shelter, airline fares, recreation, motor vehicle insurance, and household furnishings and operations were among the indexes with a large impact on the overall increase.
  • The all-items index rose 4.2 percent for the 12 months ending April, a larger increase than the 2.6- percent increase for the period ending March.

CCP Predicts Next War will be “Biological World War III”

Do you like me think there’s just too much coincidence surrounding the COVID-19 virus originating in that laboratory in Wuhan, China, and that the virus “accidentally” got loose. After all, when you start adding the elements intrinsic to this story, it all pretty much leads to what are no longer just “suspicions” that China had something to do with it. It appears that the Chinese Communist Party really DID play a role in releasing this on the World.

Now all the “suspicions” are becoming more and more justified.

Wassup?

On May 7, The Australian revealed the existence of a Chinese military paper from 2015 that discusses weaponization of SARS coronaviruses. COVID-19 is the disease caused by a SARS coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. Given 6.9 million COVID-19 deaths and counting, such military-scientific musings are the height of irresponsibility and should be decisively countered through new sanctions against China’s science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) researchers.

In the paper, Chinese military scientists and senior Chinese “public health” officials, predict that World War III, if it comes, will be decided by new biological weapons. We are no longer in the age of gunpowder or nuclear weapons. The future of war is biological, they argue.

The document is consistent with significant prior evidence of offensive Chinese biowarfare research that can access technologies such as gene-editing and viral “gain-of-function” (GOF) processes. Chinese military researchers have also shown an interest in bioweapon genetic targeting. A specific ethnic genetic attack technology would be a biological weapon that targets a specific ethnicity. Gene-editing, such as CRISPR technology, could facilitate such targeting. GOF produces new viruses that are more transmissible and lethal than their progenitors, for example, use of an avian influenza virus to evolve, in the lab, a virus that can infect humans. If China can put these technologies together and has the will to do so, it could design a killer virus that only infects a particular race that China considers to be an enemy.

As recently as June 2020, the U.S. Department of State (DoS) expressed concern that China was violating the Biological [and Toxin] Weapons Convention (BWC or BTWC) of 1984 through research into dual-use technologies. In 2005, DoS alleged that “China maintains some elements of an offensive [biological weapons] capability in violation of its BTWC obligations.” DoS made similar charges in 2010, 2012, and 2014. The 2019 report stated that “Information indicates that the People’s Republic of China engaged during the reporting period in biological activities with potential dual-use applications, which raises concerns regarding its compliance with the BWC.” The 2020 report was more specific, about “compliance concerns with respect to Chinese military medical institutions’ toxin research and development because of the potential dual-use applications and their potential as a biological threat,” and stated that China had offensive biological warfare (BW) program from the early 1950s to at least the late 1980s. The report noted that China had not acknowledged the BW program, or provided evidence of its dismantlement.

The newly-discovered Chinese military paper is titled “The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons.” Eighteen authors at the highest levels of China’s military and academic hierarchy wrote the 263-page paper.  It was obtained by DoS in May 2020 and independently authenticated by digital forensics specialist Robert Potter. Additional details of the paper will be published in Sharri Markson’s forthcoming September book on the origins of COVID-19, What Really Happened in Wuhan (HarperCollins).

The Chinese military study describes SARS coronaviruses as providing a basis for a “new era of genetic weapons,” according to its authors, that can be “artificially manipulated into an emerging human disease virus, then weaponized and unleashed in a way never seen before.”

It claims that “Following developments in other scientific fields, there have been major advances in the delivery of biological agents,” and continues, “For example, the new-found ability to freeze-dry micro-organisms has made it possible to store biological agents and aerosolized them during attacks.”

The document notes that a sudden flood of patients into hospitals during a biological weapons attack “could cause the enemy’s medical system to collapse.”

In the study, the Chinese military examines optimal conditions for the release of a biological weapon. “Bioweapon attacks are best conducted during dawn, dusk, night or cloudy weather because intense sunlight can damage the pathogens,” according to the document. “Biological agents should be released during dry weather. Rain or snow can cause the aerosol particles to precipitate. A stable wind direction is desirable so that the aerosol can float into the target area.”

Analysts are increasingly wary of China’s biowarfare programs, and potential leakage of U.S. and allied STEM research that could serve as enablers.

“Chinese military researchers have closely examined American initiatives and international advancements, which have seemed to inform and inspire the direction of developments underway in China today,” according to Elsa Kania at the Center for a New American Security, and consultant Wilson VornDick. “So too, at a time when Chinese universities and enterprises are pursuing investment and expanding global research collaborations in such fields, it is important that their foreign partners remain cognizant of the interests and involvements of their counterparts. For instance, although biomedical research involves numerous promising applications in medicine and therapeutics, there are also reasons for concern about some of the ethical and security externalities of these research engagements.”

In another article on the weaponization of biotech, Kania and Vorndick warn that “the lack of transparency and uncertainty of ethical considerations in China’s research initiatives raise the risks of technological surprise.”

My read: watch out for a surprise bio-attack from China.

Given revelations about the latest Chinese biowarfare paper, along with China’s criminal behavior related to COVID-19, genocide against the Uyghurs, highly aggressive military stance towards the United States and allies, the national strategy of civil-military fusion, dangerous new technologies of gene-targeting, and facile theft of foreign technology, and one must conclude that the United States and allies should act more decisively to defend ourselves.

The Chinese military, and the exploding economy from which it acquires strength, both depend upon STEM and trade that they obtain from the United States and allies. Continued STEM cooperation with China should therefore be immediately suspended. Decreasing imports from China would impose a logical consequence, and send a message, by constricting their economy. Until China demonstrates a significant improvement in its ethics and transparency, cooperation with China’s STEM academics and business people, including STEM undergraduates, graduate students, professors, and scientists, should be banned by law in the United States, EU, Japan, India, Brazil, and among our broader circles of allies.

But if we sanction China’s STEM, make sure it does not simply flow elsewhere, or advance in isolation beyond allied science. Regulation of science in China is generally less demanding, and so China’s military science could progress at a faster rate than allied science, through for example unethical forms of human experimentation. Note that five clinical trials of CRISPR gene-editing technologies are currently underway at China’s military hospitals.

STEM sanctions against China should have been implemented in 2005 when DoS first found evidence of an offensive biological weapons capability in violation of the BWC. Continuing to cooperate fifteen years later, when China’s STEM research can be used to build offensive biological weapons that likely target the United States and allies, is irresponsible and unethical. Knowing that China’s intentions are in part illegal or even genocidal, should make those who transfer STEM, willingly or unwillingly, culpable and criminally negligent.

Let’s not wait for a surprise bio-attack. Shut down China’s bioweapons programs now, by defensively decoupling from, and thereby minimizing, the country’s STEM infrastructure. Add maximum economic and political pressure, to nudge China toward much-needed democratization. Only when the country democratizes should we allow it back into the international system.

Playing Mr. Nice Guy and tip-toeing around existential threats to America and democracy from genocidal technologies through elision, euphemism, technocratic language, and an illogical belief in political change in Beijing through the self-serving economic and scientific engagement of individuals and corporations, is no longer acceptable. We need the United States and allies to defensively decouple, and quickly.

Summary

Did you by chance see Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) confront Dr. Anthony Fauci on Tuesday in a Senate Committee hearing about the bio-development of the SARS virus making it capable to infect humans? Paul (you could tell) had some outside information that verified that Fauci not only knew about this Chinese government program to bridge viruses that appear only in animals to jump to humans.

Fauci got busted!

Not only did Fauci know about it, but Paul has also documented evidence that Fauci’s NIAD — a division of the CDC — actually funded the experimentation to perfect this transmission process in the Wuhan laboratory. Fauci eloquently tiptoed around answering the Senator’s question, answering Paul without ever admitting the U.S. was involved in any way in that process.

But then Paul dropped another bomb!

There are 11 labs scattered around the United States that are doing the exact same testing to transmit animal-only viruses to humans! Oh yeah, they all receive some types of federal funding through “grants.”

There’s only ONE explanation for any country manipulating viruses to be able to infect humans: Biowarfare. We’re trying to eliminate nuclear bombs by replacing them with stuff that is made in a Petri dish that can easily dwarf the impact made on humans by nuclear warheads! A military force could destroy millions of people with a virus that is manipulated like SARS-CoV-2. And apparently, it has already been done!

All I have to say about the Anthony Fauci-Wuhan-COVID-19 mystery is this: Fauci has proven over and over he is NOT truthful, he MISLEADS Americans continually with his medical “Science” information we are instructed to benignly follow, and he changes his “facts” over and over. He’s been hiding something for well over a year.

My senses are NOT that this Wuhan/China thing is what he’s hiding. In fact, I think there are multiple things purposely hidden that only time will reveal to us all. But there is one thing that HAS been confirmed — especially with his testimony Tuesday before the Senate: there’s far more to the COVID-19 story than masks, social distancing, and vaccine shots. Those probably just scratch the surface.

“What could they be?” I have always at TruthNewsNetwork made this one thing very clear: Anytime people do something on a large scale that requires influencing many people to take action on what they promote, to find their reason, “Follow the money.”

Keep that in the back of your mind as we continue down the COVID-Road with Dr. Anthony Fauci. I’m pretty sure, we haven’t seen anything yet.

Big Tech or Big Government Social Media Editing: Which do You Prefer?

Think back about six or seven years or so. Facebook took over the social media world, and Twitter was contemplating upping their allowed digits in tweets to accommodate the verbose pack of young socialites dying to talk louder and with more content. YouTube allowed anyone with a cellphone camera to start their own video channel at no cost and post just about anything. Ah…Life in America was so simple then.

Then came 2016; then came Donald Trump! Social media went stark raving crazy! Social Media will NEVER be the same again.

Leave it to the Orange Man to bring the focus of almost every American to the trappings of the First Amendment. There are scant examples of serious and purposeful infringement on Americans’ right to Free Speech BEFORE the verbose Big Apple billionaire hit the campaign trail. To the horror of the Left, he was a conservative! OMG: the political world was NOT prepared for the uproar he caused, nor the results of his jumping into the 2016 presidential campaign among the populace. They were ill-prepared for the takeover of the GOP by Mr. Trump. And the majority of the Old Guard stood by and watched in horror as their kingdom evaporated before their eyes, only the be replaced by REAL conservative ideals owned by no one — except the American people! How in the world did THAT happen!

Looking in our rearview mirror, we understand now that Trump filled a void vacated by Ronald Reagan’s completed two terms in the White House. Attempts to carry forward that Reaganesque concept of government once more “of, by, and for the People” fell flat during the Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama 28-year rule over us all.

Americans were starving for someone in Washington leadership who would listen to regular citizens and confront the concerns brought to them sufficient to change things. The People watched with dazed expressions as one by one, conservatives in Congress rolled over and gave the Left everything they wanted. In doing so, it obviously mattered little to GOP leaders that their actions flew in the faces of conservative Americans: you know, those hard-working, entrepreneurial Middle-Class folks who worked their butts off to feed their families while employing others like themselves who faced the same issues.

H.W., Bill, George, and Barack all wore the public down. Many threw in their cards and learned how to “go with the flow.” It didn’t pay to try and push for the return of Reagan’s policies. The Republican mainstream kicked those to the curb when Bush 41 took the reins. Once again, D.C. became a moderately toothless and ineffective governing body. They loved it! Americans hated it.

Donald Trump was a breath of fresh air. Oh, he promised the citizenry while campaigning all the things they wanted to hear — just as had 41, Bill, 43, and Barack and Hillary was doing at the time. But he came with something his opponents — especially Hillary — did not offer: credibility. Unlike his predecessors, Trump brought some real accomplishments from his life that none of the others had! Conservative Americans liked that — and made him their president.

Social Media Explosion

They didn’t want Trump to win. They chose Hillary. Why? They could control her. They gave her campaign millions expecting her victory and then “Quid Pro Quo.” Trump turned them away. They were determined to make him pay. And pay he did. For that matter, he’s still paying for his ill deeds!

Trump spent his four years in office and since dealing with the Dragons of Control in the U.S.: Social Media giants Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Amazon. Amazon itself is NOT a social media outlet, but their CEO owns The Washington Post, which trolls Trump more closely than Zuckerberg and Dorsey!

Hillary slept for a couple of years but now has stuck her nose back into the national political scene. But she’s no longer a Washington politician. She fashions herself to be a government “Expert.” We all know what it means: Anthony Fauci better watch HIS back. Hillary has a slew of corpses in her rearview mirror!

She’s become an “Expert” on Social Media, public communications and its operations, and who should be calling the shots on the internet news, broadcast radio and television, and even in print news. She’s especially targeting Social Media.

I thought it appropriate to turn the conversation over to an expert in this field who has much personal knowledge of the former Secretary of State and First Lady: Hillary. Dinesh D’Souza is a guy who has a history of standing quietly for a while, just looking in. And when he spots significance that needs to be brought to us, he almost always “brings the mail.” We step aside for the thoughts of Mr. D’Souza:

With Hillary Clinton, I didn’t really expect a resurrection, but I knew that, if it happened, it would be a strange one. Sure enough, Hillary’s back, and this time she makes a bizarre case for why digital moguls should not only censor more; they should also be forced to censor more by the U.S. government. Her point is that democracy itself requires this, a surpassingly odd claim for a former candidate of the party that calls itself “democratic” to make.

Let’s turn to the video clip that Hillary Clinton recently released. The key sentences in an accompanying tweet are that “democracies can’t thrive when citizens can’t agree on what’s true.”

Tech companies, she contends, have made “algorithm-driven conspiracy rabbit holes a feature of our information ecosystem.” Hence, “there needs to be a reckoning” and government itself must mandate censorship when it’s not being generated voluntarily by the digital companies.

To my way of thinking, this is an attack on free speech and on democracy. It’s nothing less than a formula for tyranny. We can see this by looking more closely at Hillary’s argument. Like most arguments, it turns on the truth of its basic premise. This premise is that democracy somehow requires its participants to agree on “what’s true.” Hillary defines this to mean general unanimity on three things: facts, evidence, and truth.

Yet we have had a two-party system in this country virtually from its beginnings, and the two major parties have never in fact agreed on these things, not merely in times of great crisis, but even in calmer, more ordinary times. Hamilton and Jefferson, for example, disagreed on whether the Constitution gives the federal government the power to create a national bank. Hamilton said it does; Jefferson said no.

Both appealed to the Constitution. Jefferson said there was no specific authority in the document to create a bank. Hamilton insisted that nevertheless there was implied authority, since the Constitution proclaimed the goals or ends of government, and then gave Congress the power to do things “necessary and proper” to those ends. Thus, we have here, and on the part of two of the leading founders no less, basic disagreement on what the Constitution in fact permits.

Fast forward now to the Lincoln–Douglas debates in the middle of the 19th century. Lincoln accused his Democratic opponent Stephen Douglas of being pro-slavery. Douglas denied it, insisting he merely wanted to leave the slavery question up to each state and territory to decide for itself. Lincoln claimed that this attempt to evade the basic moral question was in fact the most pro-slavery position imaginable, because it concealed the wrong of slavery by hiding it behind a seemingly neutral procedure. Again, Lincoln and Douglas disagreed on the facts, on the evidence each side produced in support of its position, and on the truth itself.

More recently, toward the latter part of the 20th century, President Ronald Reagan proposed a missile defense program that leading Democrats said would never work. It was technically impossible. Reagan insisted that it would work. Democrats produced leading scientists—Nobel laureate Hans Bethe, the Union of Concerned Scientists—to say it couldn’t be done. Reagan produced his own luminaries—Edward Teller, inventor of the hydrogen bomb, top scientists at Los Alamos and Livermore national laboratories—who said the exact opposite. A basic dispute over facts!

This dispute over facts became a broader dispute over evidence and truth. Democrats went on to say that no missile defense could stop every incoming Soviet warhead. Reagan said that wasn’t necessary, since deterrence could be achieved merely by blunting the force of a Soviet first strike against American land-based missiles and military targets. Bottom line: The initial dispute over technical possibilities became a broader dispute over what the real objective was, and what was necessary to get there.

Finally, let’s consider the events of Jan. 6. While the Democrats insisted that they witnessed an insurrection, a terrorist attack, and an attempted coup, they never bothered to define these terms and match them up against what we actually saw, what actually happened. As many conservatives and Republicans have subsequently asked, is it possible to have an unarmed insurrection? The last insurrection against the U.S. government was in 1861, the attack on Fort Sumter. Can Jan. 6 reasonably be compared to that?

The other terms seem equally preposterous. Coups are forcible attempts to overthrow a government and seize power, as with the Pinochet coup in Chile. Yet on Jan. 6 no one even stuck around the Capitol for more than an hour or so. What kind of coup attempt is that? Finally, is it possible to have a terrorist attack without anyone being killed? The only person intentionally killed on Jan. 6 was Ashli Babbitt, a Trump supporter, shot by a Capitol Hill police officer. What resemblance is there between Jan. 6 and genuine terrorist actions like the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11? The answer is clearly none.

The basic point here is that truth is elusive. It doesn’t come delivered on a silver platter. It emerges as a consequence of ongoing, spirited debate. Even the basic terms of the debate are often disputed. Facts are in dispute, evidence is in dispute, and truth is seldom agreed upon, if ever. This has been known at least since the time of Socrates, who said that ignorance is man’s natural condition and knowing how little we know is the first step toward wisdom.

Hillary’s clear motivation is to make herself, and her party, and the digital moguls that are allied with her side, proprietors of the truth. They get to say what facts are really facts, minimizing all facts inconvenient to their narrative. They get to decide what counts as evidence, dismissing evidence that strengthens the case of the other side. They become custodians of truth itself, and arrogate to themselves the right to silence the other side in the name of protecting truth from error.

In the name of protecting democracy, Hillary is attacking democracy, because democracy requires free and open debate so that citizens can see the diverse courses of action available to them, and hear the competing cases for going one way instead of another way. Only then can they make wise decisions upon adjudicating the merits of the facts, evidence, and arguments presented to them. We can either have the robust give-and-take of genuine democracy, or we can let Hillary and her ilk decide everything for us, and rule tyrannically over us.

Summary

I heard one conservative talk show host soothe the concerns of conservatives in a conversation about Big Tech and Social Media going after conservative content: “The federal government will never allow that. A case or two will end up at the Supreme Court, which will kill these attacks on the First Amendment.” One thing I’ve learned over the past 20-3o years is “never say something will never happen.”

The Left is armed and ready to take total control of everything that is part of communications. They feel empowered by their control of Congress and the White House. By flooding our border with illegals with no end in sight, it is obvious they plan to not only provide everything those illegals need to survive in the U.S., but they will also eventually give them each citizenship with a right to vote. With that comes the universal control of one party.

Power: it’s ALL about power. Controlling the votes will give Democrats unfettered power over the nation.

Will that happen? Your bet’s as good as mine. And mine says it’s becoming more and more likely each day this American populace allows continued law-breaking with NO accountability implemented for doing so by our federal government. Who would have thought they’d all be thumbing their noses at any law-breaking without enforcement of those broken laws? Bush 43 is today voicing his support for the continued allowance of these illegal migrants!

Do you want to let folks like Hillary Clinton set ANY standards for regulating Americans in any way?

“Nothing changes if Nothing changes.”

If those who govern are not soon forced to abide by the Rule of Law, we better all take Spanish lessons. Soon, instead of an automated telephone message that asks the caller to push for one for English, it’ll be a message that says, “For English, press number 4.”

I don’t know which languages will be numbers 1 through 3. But the fact that English drops to #4 tells a lot about Leftist goals and objectives. And Social Media giants will be nothing but partners in the dismantling of the United States of America.

Attacks On Religious First Amendment Freedom And Christian Homeschooling Are No Longer Subtle

History shows our forefathers, in large part, fled Europe looking for a place where the government could no longer control everything to do with religion and education. They endured centuries in their Homeland during which a small group of elitists dominated both religion and the education of children. Those governments gave NO thought to how any citizen of those countries felt about or was impacted by the unilateral decisions made by this small group of power pundits. Our ancestors made it clear through the foundation process of America that both Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion were rights solely retained by the People when our federal government was formed.

For about 250 years, those rights enshrined in the Bill of Rights were the guiding tenets of life in the United States. Americans took them for granted. Doing so maybe our downfall.

Today, both Christian religion and Christian education are being pummeled by the politically Left among us. And with the Left in total control of our government, activists in both areas have assumed their majorities in the U.S. House and Senate are something of a consensus given to Congress and the Democrat President to “change” both. And both are already — in just the first few months of the Biden Administration — under egregious assault.

How so? Please take a look with us.

Freedom of Religion

The right to worship freely is often called America’s first freedom. Our founding fathers understood religious freedom not as the state’s creation but as an inalienable right from God.

This universal right is enshrined in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as well as the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states, “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.”

Today, however, religious freedom is threatened or restricted entirely for millions of people around the world. Over 80 percent of the world’s population lives in countries with high or severe restrictions on religious freedom. In far too many places across the globe, governments and others prevent individuals from living in accordance with their beliefs.

Recent reports by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and the pontifical foundation Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) found that violations against religious freedom worldwide are ongoing and widespread.

For example, USCIRF’s Annual 2021 Report recommended to the U.S. State Department that 14 countries receive its most severe designation, “country of particular concern (CPC),” because of their respective governments’ engagement or toleration of “systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations” against religious freedom. These countries included: Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, India, Russia, Syria, Vietnam, and Nigeria.

Further, ACN recently concluded, “During the period under review, there has been a significant increase in the severity of religiously motivated persecution and oppression.” It found that, in total, severe violations of religious freedom are taking place in 62 countries around the world.

Concerningly, the report authors wrote that some of the worst offenders are from some of the world’s most populous countries. For example, in China, the world’s most populated country with 1.4 billion people, the Chinese Communist Party is committing genocide in Xinjiang against Muslim Uyghurs and other ethnic and religious minorities.

Moreover, USCIRF and ACN reported that in some countries, the COVID-19 pandemic was exploited to blame, target, and discriminate against minority religious communities, in some cases denying them access to food and medical aid.

As these reports have shown, the denial of religious freedom is not an issue that is unique to any one country or group. Rather, it is a global challenge that requires strong leadership, bold action, and an unwavering commitment to overcome.

During his tenure, President Donald J. Trump was a champion for religious freedom. In June of 2020, he signed an Executive Order on Advancing International Religious Freedom. This executive order defined international religious freedom as a moral and national security imperative. It ensured that $50 million per year be allocated for programs that advance international religious freedom and required international religious freedom training for U.S. federal officials.

The Trump administration also launched the International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance, a group of 32 countries committed to protecting religious freedom or belief.

Moreover, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo hosted two convocations to Advance Religious Freedom in 2018 and 2019, bringing together leaders worldwide to promote and protect religious freedom.

As religious persecution and repression continue to be widespread, protecting international religious freedom should remain a U.S. foreign policy priority. The Biden administration should build upon the work of the Trump administration to defend this fundamental human right. But, so far, it appears that this priority to protect religious freedom both here and abroad is nowhere to be found in this White House or Congress.

Who would have thought that attacks on the Freedom of Religion prevalent in OTHER countries would find their way into OUR nation even now!

Christian Education: “Homeschooling”

Christianity in the U.S. in our education systems is being annihilated as we speak. Again, an attack on religious freedoms while attacking Christian messaging in our schools at the same time!

Early in 2020, Elizabeth Bartholet, a professor at the Harvard Law School, became notorious for advocating a “presumptive ban” on homeschooling.

The 3 to 4 percent of U.S. parents who chose to educate their children at home would have to prove to educational authorities that “their case is justified,” and if they could not do so, have their children sent to public schools.

An article about Bartholet in Harvard’s alumni magazine, reiterating a position she had taken in a lengthy law-review article published shortly before, provoked a furor among parents and young people, some of them Harvard graduates, who had enjoyed successful homeschooling experiences.

Then came the coronavirus lockdown. With public schools shuttering their brick-and-mortar classrooms and teachers’ unions promising to keep them shuttered throughout the 2020–21 school year and beyond, the percentage of homeschooling households suddenly surged — to 5.4 percent in late April 2020 and to 11.1 percent by the end of September 2020. Many new homeschoolers were otherwise politically liberal urbanites, and the anti-homeschooling movement quickly faded as a progressive cause.

But now the homeschooling opponents are back, with a new, more specific focus: Christian homeschooling. The impetus was the January 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol by disgruntled Trump supporters. It quickly became identified in the media with “white nationalism” and then with “white Christian nationalism,” on the premise that white evangelical Christians were an important voting bloc for Donald Trump in the 2020 election, and many had attended a huge Trump rally on the National Mall that day. From there, it was a quick jump to evangelical churches and schools and, of course, homeschools. Education pundits loudly urge the Biden Department of Education to push for accreditation entities across the nation to stop accrediting Christian schools that teach these alleged “white nationalism” and “white Christian nationalism” curricula.

On January 15, the Huffington Post ran a scathing critique of Abeka Publishing and the Bob Jones University Press, which publish textbooks and other materials used by many homeschooling evangelical parents: “Language used in the books overlaps with the rhetoric of Christian nationalism, often with overtones of nativism, militarism, and racism.”

Days later, Chrissy Stroop, a writer for the progressive website Religion Dispatches, chimed in: “It would be remiss of us to approach the ‘where were they radicalized’ question without addressing how the Christian schooling and homeschooling movement, along with many white churches and other evangelical, LDS, and ‘traditional’ Catholic institutions, fostered the subcultures” presumably responsible for the Capitol break-in.

A March 2 article in Ms. Magazine focused on “extremist, white supremacist” homeschooling curricula as “the product of a decades-long crusade to deregulate home-and private-school education, the fruits of which are visible in such phenomena as QAnon, COVID denialism, the Capitol riots …”

On April 22, numerous media outlets, including The Washington Post, ran a (now deleted) article from the Religion News Service by progressive pastor Doug Pagitt declaring that “homeschooling in conservative evangelical communities is a key channel for ideas to feed into Christian nationalism.”

“The conservative evangelical education system has become a pipeline of extremism,” Pagitt wrote.

Earlier, on March 30, Philip Gorski, a sociology professor at Yale who studies American religious trends, had tweeted: “Christian homeschooling was, and is often, if not always, a major vector of White Christian Nationalism.” (Gorski has since made his Twitter account private.)

None of this should come as a surprise. Although opponents of homeschooling have typically raised understandable concerns — such as whether parents with limited educations are equipped to teach math and reading, or whether some parents keep their children out of school as a pretext to abuse them — their actual animus as expressed in their writings is almost always directed at parents who are too religious for their tastes. That means evangelical and other conservative Christians (who still account for the vast majority of homeschoolers), along with Hasidic Jews who educate their children in their own yeshivas.

For example, in her article for the Arizona Law Review, Bartholet referred to what she called homeschooling parents’ ideological commitment to “isolating their children from the majority culture and indoctrinating them in views and values that are in serious conflict with that culture.”

Terms such as “indoctrinate,” “isolate,” views “far outside the mainstream,” and failure to “expose” children to “alternative perspectives” or to teach them to “think for themselves” — those are commonplaces of the academic writings of homeschooling opponents. To clarify whom they are talking about, these critics typically throw in a sarcastic reference to the Bible as “sacred, absolute truth.”

Up until very recently, however, homeschooling opponents kept their attacks reasonably subtle. That is, they didn’t come out and say directly that what they didn’t like about Christian homeschooling was the Christian part. Then, the January 6 invasion of the Capitol gave them an excuse to do exactly that, usually without being able to back up their attacks with evidence.

Yale professor Gorski, for example, admitted in a subsequent tweet that he had no idea how “big” the claimed “overlap between Christian Nationalists and Christian homeschoolers” actually might be.

It helps the critics’ cause, of course, that they and the media have redefined “nationalism” to mean mere patriotism or pride in America’s history and civilization and “Christian nation” to mean a theocracy instead of a country where 65 percent of the inhabitants of every ethnicity define themselves as Christians and hold some formulation of Christian ideals.

Hence, the trepidation over homeschooling textbooks from religious publishers that teach civic virtue asserts that God created the world as the Book of Genesis says and takes a dim view of such progressive shibboleths as feminism, transgender activism, the “1619 Project,” and climate alarmism.

The notion that parents, Christian or otherwise, should be forbidden by the government to educate their children in the values that they themselves hold dear — or be forced to “expose” them to values that they might find abhorrent but are definitely in the secular liberal “mainstream” (advocating unrestricted abortion or same-sex marriage, for example) — is totalitarianism at its crudest. And now that the gloves are off the anti-homeschoolers and their real aims, it’s also part of a particular war against a large number of Christians as well.

These same sycophants care not just about Christian homeschooling but are simultaneously attacking Christian schools, some of which offer the finest educations to today’s youth. Testing children from these Christian schools historical results in dramatically higher scores in the fundamental classroom subjects and life integrations with fellow students and others in their universe of contacts.

Christianity is a common trait. Therefore, Christianity MUST be driven out of our education system altogether. Sadly, their basis for doing so has nothing to do with the actual education of our children! Its sole purpose is to eliminate Christianity as an option to be considered while the maturation process occurs.

The saddest of all is that while the replacement god for the U.S. perpetuates the singular objective to eliminate Christianity, millions of Americans are sleeping while giving no thought to what’s happening. The pushback from even some Evangelicals is, “There’s no way that can happen! We have the guaranteed right to Free Speech. If they try that, the Law will back us up.”

Don’t forget: the other big target for these Leftists is to destroy the Rule of Law itself! Remember: sleeping Americans thought that would never happen either. But don’t forget this: it’s estimated there are actually 20-40 million illegal immigrants living among us today. “Illegal” means those 20-40 million broke federal law to come and remain here. Those federal laws that are numerous were broken, and no one does anything about it!

Knowing that, do you think it’s a far reach to believe no one will enforce the First Amendment’s obliteration in the cause to “keep Americans safe from white nationalism?”

Saturday Bullet Points: May 8, 2021

Tax Day is just a week away. No, that’s not news; it’s panic time! But on this last weekend, before you have to sign away your life savings to Uncle Sam, let’s enjoy a quiet Saturday starting with a good cup of coffee and “Saturday Bullet Points.” You’ve got to make sure you are caught up on all the week’s happenings. And we have them for you.

Just click on each bullet point, read the brief explanations of each event. If you want more details, click on the blue arrow at the end of the description. It will take you to a full story.

If you don’t need more details, go to the next bullet point. Have a big weekend today and tomorrow. Don’t work about May 15th! It’ll be here soon enough. And you’ll survive!

Bullet Points

  • There are quite a few former government officials that served our nation in the cabinets of several previous administrations that are NOT keen on Joe Biden — especially regarding his prowess in dealing with foreign governments. That’s pretty important for U.S. Presidents. One previous Cabinet Secretary, Robert Gates, once famously quipped about then-Senator Joe Biden: “Biden has been wrong on every foreign policy position he’s ever taken with any country.” And Gates is back in the news as he laments about what the nation faces in today’s foreign policy with Joe Biden in the White House. For complete details, click on this link:
  • Black Lives Matter is back on the prowl on the streets of Louisville, Kentucky. This time it happened during a protest march/rally protesting the police killing a year ago of Breonna Taylor. During their protest, BLM activists decided to take their protest into a restaurant full of diners. Imagine their surprise when their actions were met with some drawn guns! For complete details, click on this link:
  • White House communications with the American public is a critical aspect of each presidential administration. The Biden White House: not so much, at least when it comes to direct interface between the press and the President. It has become painfully obvious that his communications department does NOT like the President answering press questions. That has NEVER happened in any previous administration! Press Secretary Jen Psaki actually confirmed their continual efforts to keep Uncle Joe from answering questions! For complete details, click on this link:
  • Many Americans are wondering if Liz Cheney, Congresswoman from Wyoming and the third most powerful Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives, wishes she had NOT come out so strongly against President Trump in the aftermath of the November 3, 2020 election. Her doing so looks to be ending our power in the Party and in the House. She’s been holding on for some time but appears she is accepting that Wyomans and her fellow Republicans in the House are about to push her out the door. For complete details, click on this link:
  • President Biden has been singing his own praises for a couple of months. What about? “We’ve created more jobs in our first hundred days in office than has any other U.S. president.” Uh-oh: the Labor Department released the employment numbers Friday morning for the month of April. They were quite a bit lower than the projected numbers of new jobs for Americans. To make it worse, the reported new job numbers from March were lowered! And the unemployment rate ticked up — that was a BIG surprise. For complete details, click on this link:
  • The press has been pretty quiet the last week or two about illegal immigration numbers at the southern border. Why? Most think the Biden Administration is trying to deflect the attention of Americans to the horrendous numbers of illegals pouring into the U.S. through our border. To prove that point, they have given pictures to the media showing several of those tents that have previously been flooded with unaccompanied minors are virtually empty. Why could that be? One Texas Democrats in Congress is accusing the Administration of playing the shell game with those kids! For complete details, click on this link:
  • We all thought that Social Media was the perfect way to get Americans to communicate more closely with each other. All of a sudden we now realize that our “normal” communications with each other have been turned off like a water faucet. Instead of talking on the phone or running over to a friend’s house we grab the iPhone and send a text or Facebook message. We don’t talk anymore! However, we’ve now discovered that Big Brother — “Big Tech” — is taking over bigger pieces of our lives every day. And it’s only going to get worse. For complete details, click on this link:
  • Have you noticed in your town or city how many employers are struggling to find employees? States are releasing restrictions on businesses that have been desperate to reopen after being shut down for months — many for a year! But folks won’t go back to work. Why is that? With the federal unemployment stimulus payments with state unemployment benefits, many of those unemployed are making more money staying at home than going back to work! But South Carolina has a fix for that. Their governor gave notice that they will stop those federal unemployment payments in their state in a few months. For complete details, click on this link:
  • Facebook seems to stay under fire for the egregious handling of Americans’ personal and business social media pages. To put it mildly, Facebook has gotten too big for their britches! They with their fellow Tech giants have seized control of a massive percentage of the nation’s messaging. But one Texas Representative has discovered that Facebook has been caught running advertisements on their platform that promotes human smuggling by cartels from Mexico and Central America! For complete details, click on this link:
  • The United Kingdom has experienced everything regarding all things COVID-19 related several months before the U.S. This past week, the U.K. published the results of an analysis on the people most affected by the resurgence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus infections in March. What is surprising is that the highest percentages correspond to those who had already received two doses of the vaccine!
Can we expect that same thing here in a few weeks? For complete details, click on this link:

The U.S. Owes a lot of Money. Who Do We Owe?

What do you think about the trillions of dollars already spent in the Biden Administration and the additional six-10 trillion that this President wants to spend for additional items? Do you feel the government spending is out of hand? Sure, we’re told that none of this spending is really “spending:” it’s “investing” in things that Americans “need.” Have you even peeked at some of these “needs” that are secretly tucked away in the late paragraphs in this legislation? We’ll detail much of it during Friday’s “TNN Live” Show from 9:00-11:00 AM Central time. You will be shocked to hear what is included. None of it is investments! In fact, MOST of it is pure fat designed and used to pay off many of those individuals and companies who contributed heavily during the 2018 midterms and the 2020 presidential elections. And, of course, very little of those contributions went to anyone bearing the brand of the “Elephant!”

Besides the obvious shock and disbelief many will hold when realizing how evil are the spending habits of this Administration and the things that President Biden intends to spend taxpayers’ dollars for, the problems that accompany such spending are sufficient to suffocate the greatest nation on Earth. And many economists are predicting the biggest hit against the U.S. economy in a century are knocking at our door just because of this deficit spending and its resulting inflation and massive, unsustainable U.S. debt.

Let’s dive into the details of our nation’s debt today — before we even add the “Biden Pork” to the total that our great, great, great, great-grandchildren are being saddled with paying. And, if Uncle Joe gets his way, there’s much more debt in the wings.

The U.S. Debt

The U.S. debt reached a new high of $28.1 trillion as of March 31, 2021. Most headlines focus on how much the United States owes China, one of the largest foreign owners. Many people don’t know that the Social Security Trust Fund, also known as your retirement money, owns most of the national debt. How does that work, and what does it mean?

The Debt Is in Two Categories

The U.S. Treasury manages the U.S. debt through its Bureau of Public Debt. The debt falls into two categories: intra-governmental holdings and debt held by the public.

Intragovernmental Debt

The Treasury owes this part of the debt to other federal agencies. In February 2021, intragovernmental holdings totaled more than $6 trillion.1 Why would the government owe money to itself? Like the Social Security Trust Fund, some agencies take in more revenue from taxes than they need. Rather than stick this cash under a giant mattress, these agencies invest in U.S. Treasuries.

This transfers the agencies’ excess revenue to the general fund, where it is spent. They redeem their Treasury notes for funds as needed. The federal government then either raises taxes or issues more debt to raise the cash.

Which agencies own the most Treasuries? Social Security, by a long shot.

The U.S. Treasury publishes this in the Monthly Treasury Statement. Here’s the breakdown from the February 2021 data:

  • Social Security trusts, including the Federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance and Federal Disability Insurance Trust Funds: $2.90 trillion
  • Office of Personnel Management Retirement: $955.1 billion
  • Military Retirement Fund: $1.01 trillion. This has become a big issue in funding our nation’s defense and is only expected to grow.
  • Medicare, which includes the Federal Supplementary Medical Insurance Trust Fund: $304.4 billion
  • Cash on hand to fund federal government operations: $723 billion2
Public Debt

The public holds over $21 trillion, or almost 78%, of the national debt. Foreign governments hold about a third of the public debt. At the same time, the rest is owned by U.S. banks and investors, the Federal Reserve, state and local governments, mutual funds, pensions funds, insurance companies, and savings bonds.

The Treasury breaks down who holds how much of the public debt in the monthly Treasury Bulletin. Here are highlights from the March 2021 report (September 2020 data unless indicated otherwise):

  • Foreign: $7.07 trillion (in September 2020, Japan owned $1.28 trillion, and China owned $1.06 trillion of U.S. debt, which is more than a third of foreign holdings)
  • Federal Reserve and government: $10.81 trillion (December 2020)
  • Mutual funds: $3.5 trillion
  • State and local governments, including their pension funds: $1.09 trillion
  • Private pension funds: $784 billion
  • Insurance companies: $253 billion
  • U.S. savings bonds: $147 billion (December 2020)
  • Other holders, including individuals, government-sponsored enterprises, brokers and dealers, banks, bank personal trusts and estates, corporate and non-corporate businesses, and other investors: $2.28 trillion

This debt is not only in Treasury bills, notes, and bonds but also in Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities and special state and local government series securities.

If you add the debt held by Social Security and all the retirement and pension funds, almost half of the U.S. Treasury debt is held in trust for your retirement. If the United States defaults on its debt, foreign investors would be angry, but current and future retirees would be hurt the most.

Why the Federal Reserve Owns Treasuries

As the nation’s central bank, the Federal Reserve is in charge of the country’s credit. It doesn’t have a financial reason to own Treasury notes. So why did it triple its holdings between 2007 and 2014?

The Fed needed to fight the 2008 financial crisis. In 2008, it ramped up open market operations by purchasing bank-owned mortgage-backed securities. In 2009, the Fed began adding U.S. Treasuries. By 2011, it owned $1.6 trillion, maxing out at $2.5 trillion in 2014. This quantitative easing (QE) stimulated the economy by keeping interest rates low and infusing liquidity into the capital markets, giving businesses continued access to low-cost borrowing for operations and expansion.

Did the Fed monetize the debt? In a way, yes. The Fed purchased Treasuries from its member banks, using credit that it created out of thin air. It had the same effect as printing money. By keeping interest rates low, the Fed helped the government avoid the high-interest-rate penalty it would incur for excessive debt.

The Fed ended quantitative easing in October 2014. As a result, interest rates on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose from a 200-year low of 1.43% in July 2012 to around 2.17% by the end of 2014.

In 2017, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) said the Fed would reduce its Treasury holdings. That put upward pressure on long-term interest rates. The FOMC meeting statement summary is a report of FOMC’s discussion regarding the nation’s economic outlook. It also includes the resulting vote on the interest rates and the monetary policies the Fed plans to follow.

On March 15, 2020, the Federal Reserve announced it would purchase $500 billion in U.S. Treasuries and $200 billion in mortgage-backed securities over the next several months. On March 23, 2020, the FOMC expanded QE purchases to an unlimited amount. By May 20, its balance sheet had grown to $7 trillion.

Current Foreign Ownership of U.S. Debt

In January 2021, Japan owned $1.28 trillion in U.S. Treasuries, making it the largest foreign holder. The second-largest holder is China, which owns $1.10 trillion of U.S. debt. Both Japan and China want to keep the value of the dollar higher than the value of their currencies. That helps keep their exports to the United States affordable, which helps their economies grow.

Despite China’s occasional threats to sell its holdings, both countries are happy to be America’s biggest foreign bankers. China replaced the United Kingdom as the second-largest foreign holder in 2006 when it increased its holdings to $699 billion.

The United Kingdom is the third-largest holder with $439 billion. Its holdings have increased in rank as Brexit continues to weaken its economy. Ireland is next, holding $314 billion. Luxembourg follows it with $281 billion and Brazil with $260 billion. Luxembourg has earned a reputation for being a front for sovereign wealth funds and hedge funds whose owners don’t want to reveal their positions.

The Bottom Line

Many people believe that much of U.S. debt is owed to foreign countries like China and Japan. The truth is, most of it is owed to Social Security and pension funds. This means U.S. citizens, through their retirement money, own most of the national debt.

U.S. national debt is the sum of these two federal debt categories:

  • Public debt, held by other countries, the Federal Reserve, mutual funds, and other entities and individuals
  • Intragovernmental holdings, held by Social Security, Military Retirement Fund, Medicare, and other retirement funds
Summary

While Uncle Sam has $5.9 trillion in assets, the $129 trillion owed in bills — including military and civilian retirement benefits — means the U.S. is in the hole for $123 trillion. Just the unfunded liabilities in Medicare and Social Security add up to $96 trillion. It is a stunning amount coming due over the next 75 years. The Treasury Department sticks its proverbial head in the sand and does not even list the liabilities on the federal government’s balance sheet.

But not to worry, taxpayers will not actually be paying for this. How could they?

Instead, older people who have been promised these benefits likely will not be paid in full. If we do manage to pay for these promised benefits by some magic, it is young people who would be saddled with trillions in extra taxes with nothing in return.

$200 Trillion: What’s that dollar number about? If one adds the already-existing U.S. debt to the current federal government budget amount that will go unfunded (deficit spending) AND all the spending measures currently on the table under consideration, we could owe ourselves and many other countries $200 Trillion before this decade fades into the sunset! Any way you add these numbers, even if the total is less than $200 Trillion, it is virtually impossible to paint a picture of the United States EVER paying its debts in total. In fact, the interest alone on such debt is mind-boggling:

  • One percent interest per year on just $1 Trillion is $10 Billion.
  • Multiply that annual debt payment by 200 to get our total annual debt on what we owe today and the additional projected to be added over the next nine years.
  • The annual interest on that debt at one percent is $2 Trillion each year!

By the way, the total annual gross revenue of the federal government for the last fiscal year was $3.42 Trillion.

In other words, we’re broke.

Is There a Solution?

The only realistic one that comes to mind is to increase our gross revenue and decrease our total spending. That’s a novel idea, isn’t it!?! We do that in our homes and businesses. But, for some reason, the federal government operates as if the blank checks in the Federal Treasury checkbook are still in abundance. That must mean there’s plenty of money in the Government checking account. So they keep writing checks.

Realistically, getting out of this debt picture will certainly never happen in our lifetimes, the lives of our children, their children, and then their grandchildren. Most economists pessimistically project that the nation has gone too far on its constant spending binges to pay its debts.

What are the inevitable results of all this? I don’t want to paint a bleaker picture, so leave it at this: Regardless of whether our debt can ever be paid, we need to immediately begin balancing our annual budget, if for no other reason, to start spending wisely. After all, what type of example are our national leaders setting for this and future generations of young Americans who will be forced to shoulder this burden of debt?

Our forefathers started this process of tax and spend ethically and financially sound. It wasn’t until elected officials realized that they control all the rules on taxing, collecting, and spending taxpayer dollars. They quickly realized THEY are the financial bosses over all Americans. Even though they technically work for us, we allowed them to be the signers on our bank account, so they don’t have to get our specific permission to issue checks. And issue checks they do!

The only thing I know that we can do (other than pray) is to bombard your Senators and Representatives about stopping the incessant spending sprees! NOTHING is free — someone always has to pay. And if they do NOT heed or warnings, send them packing in the next election.
